Not just them though. A lot of people on Sputnik and on Twitter who were huge fans of Home are now just like "meh I only like a few songs from this band now". The same thing will probably happen to Pinegrove. And then will happen to whatever band comes after them.
On one hand, I think I prefer this album melodically to Home. However, that one demanded my frequent return to it around the time of its release and the following months, whereas this has fallen out of my rotation quickly and extremely and I'm unsure about why.
I've taken a break from them but that's bc I binged pretty much from when I got goodness in May until I saw them in July. Can't wait to see them again in the fall though
This is exactly how I feel about the album. It just hasn't clicked with me like Home did/does or like this album does for other people and that's okay. Great album and one of my favorites this year still.
Home is my overall favorite album, but Goodness as higher highs. Piano Player remains my favorite Hotelier song. I look back at those posts I wrote write when the song came out, right before I was sent to a mental and drug rehabilitation center for a week, and I get chills just like I did the first time I heard that song.
I feel the opposite, it's weird how I feel about this record. I think this is a better record and I would rather listen to this than Home but Home has more songs I'd rather listen to and if I had to choose between the two I'd probably choose that one
Third Eye Blind is def my favorite of the two overall. That it is. Tbh I only really like Dizzy Up The Girl, for the most part, and even then I only care for Johnny's songs. That said, all of Johnny's songs on that album are incredible imo. Slide, Black Balloon, Broadway, Iris... All some of my favorite songs that ever made it to radio.
