Posted the uncensored album cover on Instagram to be edgy (also because I was feelin the record hardcore) and someone reported it within like 5 minutes lol.
Great record. Soft Animal is in my top 10 songs of the year, and Two Deliverances and You In This Light are gems also
the delivery of You In This Light gets me everytime, everything flows soooooooo well together. You in this light feels like a thing I can't remember. Clutching you close your body felt like December shook awake early from the rock of your tremors. Tracing my thumb over the miles of your memory. Now a bit brighter with a smile and a laughter. One in the same and what am I to be after, dancing in private with the concept of never? You in this light feels like a thing I can't remember.
You In This Light is an incredible song. The way it builds up is fantastic. Also, I'm not trying to be rude / insensitive etc. and I understand they've taken Housebroken out of their set list because fans have come up to them saying it is triggering / upsets them. But, in my opinion I kind of view the lyrics as a harsh truth / addressing something that isn't talked about enough (abuse or police violence, because I think the song can be interpreted as either) - does the song not at least open up room for conversation about the two subjects? Why act like it doesn't exist / never play it when I think it encourages people to speak up and talk about abuse more, no? If you think I'm out of line, or have a different view, I'm genuinely curious as to why you think I may be or am wrong.
Hadn't jammed this in a couple months. Mowed the yard with it, aaaaand I still love You In This Light.
I backed off for like a month because I was worried this was going to become less special to me because of over listening. I'm glad I did. I try to just listen to it once a weekish now, and I feel more the way I did in the first couple days of listening to it, if that makes sense
It does, I feel like it's going to be something I'll always come back to though, years down the line I'll be wishing more bands wrote music like this
