Watched them play Deep Rest and Goodness II online earlier at the Pitchfork festival. This band really are something special.
I wonder how long I will have to listen to this before the new Settle the Scar replaces the old one in my head. I like them both to be clear, but I keep expecting like one part in particular that's no longer the same. I forget every time haha.
I spent waaaay too much time listening to the old one between Home and Goodness coming out. It's happening though, the shift is close -- just that one part where on the new one they do a single slow strum as opposed to a few fast aggressive ones, I keep expecting the latter.
As much as I love this record. And I really do love it, more than home possibly. I would probably tell people to start with Home when introducing them to the band
Even if I like home better overall, a couple of tracks on goodness are better than (almost) everything on there IMO
end of real and soft animal are better than all of home but dendron and discomforted are better than the rest of goodness. thanks for reading this post
End of Reel is probably my least favourite song on either other than Housebroken obvs. That song just doesn't do it for me like it seems to for others.
