Me on Apple Music and the only way I can fix it is a hard reboot

 

Just did an iPhone reboot. Hopefully that fixes it. Currently walking around a pond in my neighborhood listening to this and everything is just so gorgeous and I feel..good.

 

When the guitar solo / riff in Goodness Pt2 hits those high notes... GAH. I could happily punch through a wall every single time.

This band knows how to close out an album

 

Again I love the nature theme and the reference to all 4 seasons in this album. Just so wonderful

 

for real. "Title Track" alone is a stellar closer than any band would be lucky to have in their catalog, but The Hotelier trump themselves with "Dendron" and fucking "End Of Reel". Those 3 back to back is a fucking experience.

 

Absolutely. If they keep ending albums like this they'll be in the company of Jimmy eat world w regards to closers. Each one hits so hard

 

yep, JEW and MCS are my gold standard for closers/openers and these guys are well on their way to joining those ranks.

 

Even the lyric each album leaves you with is perfect

 

I love sun, but the last part of the last line just feels a little flat. "I can't sit in your sun" just doesn't seem fitting for the build up it took to get to that moment. That's really my biggest complaint for the entire album. I'm hoping one day I'll have an epiphany that makes me appreciate that line more, because this album is soooo good.

 

End of Reel is my favorite song to come out for a good while, damn

 

So this album is pretty much perfec. However I'd like to hear everyone's least favorite track. This may be an unpopular opinion, but for now it's "sun". I don't know what it is but I think lyrically it's the weakest, and the drawn out ending isn't as "epic" as I wanted it to be. Still a good song though. This band can do no harm.

 

My least favorite right now is probably "Goodness Part 2". I really enjoy it until the little guitar solo bit comes in. I sounds kind of corny in my opinion. I think "Goodness Part 1" would have worked just fine in it's place.

Also, reboot did not fix the problem with sun cutting out. When I got home I deleted the album and downloaded a different rip, and when I put it into apple music, nothing has changed; fine on the computer, cuts out on my phone. Odd.

 

That's the best part of the song, imo.

 

i like that pt2 guitar part. it's not similar to anything they do much but it works there very well

 

I dunno, it just doesn't click with me right now. Maybe it'll grow on me.

 

This is definitely my favorite record released so far this year, and I definitely like it more than Home. That's all.

Me too! There's been so much good stuff lately that I decided to wait until release day and spend the long weekend with it. If Piano Player is most people's least favorite, this must be AOTY because I love that song.

 

Piano player is my least favorite but I've really grown to love that song and think it's an important part of the record

 

PP might be top 3, surely top 5 for me - it's deceptively repetitive and simple, so I get people not enjoying it much, but it has a lot of energy... the part the where the song kicks in after the fist verse is magical
