And I prefer the new version of "Settle The Scar" if only because I like the bridge and guitars more. Plus I never liked "Had me dying for a gram"
I feel like there's something larger revealed about the song through the two versions but I still have to work that theory out
I think I like the new version better, if only for the improved lyrics. "Dying for a gram" lyric was always a head scratcher for me, and the new bridge is great.
listening to the old version now and I literally think every thing about it is better in the new version.
At first I felt the opposite but I think thata was just a result of being used to the original for so long and taking the time to adjust to the new version, which I think fits here much better than if they had just threw the original recording in.
First time I've heard the old version of "Settle the Scar" I like them both actually, the old version rawness is awesome.
Is this tour playing weirdly small venues in anyone else's city? The place they're playing here holds MAYBE 150 people.
Funny that the first song on their first album is called "Our Lives Would Make A Sad, Boring Movie" and the closer on here is called "End Of Reel" which sort of implies that this is indeed a 3 album story arc. Of course it stands to reason that its all coincidence, but I still feel like these 3 albums are inherently connected. I've been thinking about the two songs Zack sings lead on for INGO (Lonely Hearts and I'm Gone) and how that fits into the story. Maybe he's the voice of the character that harms themselves/dies in "Ode To The Nite Ratz Club" (and, subsequently, HLNPIT since its strongly implied that they are one in the same). Like, Lonely Hearts is kind of their last fleeting moments of jubilee and I'm Gone is their spirit kind of haunting the narrator of all 3 albums. Or, you know, maybe I'm thinking too much about something that probably isnt even true.
I've been thinking a lot about these albums as a trilogy and as one interconnected story and trying to make all the pieces fit. For the most part, they do. Zack taking lead just throws a bit of a wrench in it haha. Theyre still great songs and add to an already diverse catalog. Plus Christian still sings a good bit on Lonely Hearts Club.
It was so weird listening to that the first time the other day. For a second I thought I was listening to fall out boy circa tttyg when our lives started
Can i just say in Two Deliverances, the part where Christian does the "ooooOOOOooooooo" going into the chorus is like a highlight of the song for me
For some reason I was confused which member left. That's too bad it was Ben, he seems like such a cool guy in all the live videos
I wonder if "through others rose prescriptioned lense" is a reference back to Ode. "Weathered" is such Weakerthans worship I love it. But back to this album. "Goodness Pt 2" blows me away every time. That outro tho
Shouldn't this be shipping soon? I still haven't seen anything from Tiny Engines......or did I miss something?
if you order from a small label like tiny engines, there's about a 75% chance it'll be delayed in the year 2016
