i really need to see if i'm gonna also get a dl of Piano Player, since i just bought the vinyl from TE and not on bandcamp or itunes. i emailed them to see if i'll get sent the track. i NEED to listen to this in my car/phone/everywhere in the world every day til this comes out
It's weird that they didn't include a download. Hoping it's just an oversight. But when I saw it up on Bandcamp I just paid the $1 for a download.
i can only imagine it's gonna take a while for them to get back to emails cuz of the influx of them they're responding to today
damn, they got back to me and let me know that i can't get that dl from Limited Run since they can't do it with the store. If anyone downloaded the track from bc or itunes, feel free to shoot me a dm! haha
man i love his vocal style on this song but they are wayyyyyyyyy too low in the mix i can barely hear him at all
Didn't preorder the record bc I've lived away from my player for nearly 2 years now and shipping/exchange rate kill me but I did finally buy my ticket to the tour!
lyrics to Piano Player, keep them in this thread: Inside your room there's 40 few remaining figures of new moons to curve around your axle heart in hopes that something new will start. They're winding down they're closing ranks to rest another 30 days. You lay and watch them wax and glow. You hold them in your hand and let them go. A kid half my age, baby's breath and meadow sage clutched in her hands like trophy game, just like the wild world was time, was granted home and tender care into an awkward piece of ware three-quarters full or quarter-drained and both adversely sure how long they will sustain. My eyes greet hers and hers do mine and then the room becomes her shrine. An older madam sets herself straight and then she smiles with 88 remembered loves and morning suns until her woven heart was sung. Her fingers dropped like falling rain. The entire room awash with the sustain. You always said that you don't dance but then a heel turn to a shadow stance. I'm rung like sodden cloth. And the autumn leaves turn over across your floor, into the hall and I've declined into a crawl and you decompress and fall away but this floor is raised on beams of trust and there's room enough for both of us so stay. Sustain. Inside your room there's 40 few remaining figures of new moons to curve around your axle heart in hopes that something new will start. The things you grow are set to die. You cling to them with knuckles white. So wind me up, damper to floor and I don't know if I know love no more.
Did anyone else click the "download album link" that was in the preorder confirmation email hoping they would accidentally have that accessible haha?
Yo I actually love that Goodness Pt 1 was released before the album despite it not even being on the album. Because when I listen to it I still feel the anticipation for this record, and the song is (I'm assuming) so connected with what we're going to get. It's something I can listen to over and over again in anticipation for this record and I don't have to worry it being over played, or experiencing "single-syndrome" with it. It's also become one of my favorite hotelier songs ever.
Pretty interesting post made by someone affiliated with the band in the Piano Player news post. Stream The Hotelier's "Piano Player"
oh right on. i thought it was a neat post. things like that always make me wonder how much band members lurk lol.
