i dunno. i just dont like it like everyone else. i've never had the emotional connection to them that a lot of people in here do.
I'm obsessing with this album. It MAY have topped Home for me? Soft Animal, specifically the Chorus is the high point for me so far.
Would be awesome if they started gigs by playing the second coordinates song on speakers or whatever, walk on at the end and start on Two Deliverances
I can't believe this band wrote "Title Track", "Dendron", AND "End Of Reel". Any other band would be lucky to have wrote one of those tracks. Certain songs on this album feel like they took "Among The Wildflowers" and thought "let's expand on this sound". It works flawlessly. The only song on here id consider my least favorite is "You In This Light", but I still love it a good bit. This trilogy of albums will be the type of 3 album arc emo/indie kids will still be gushing over 10 years down the road.
I want to know what the setlist for the North American tour is but nobody has posted it anywhere I can find yet!
Completely agree with what you said about Among The Wildflowers. Obviously in terms of lyrical content and the heavier vocals at the end it's completely different than anything on Goodness, but I think in terms of song structure and the way the song has so much room to breath with the Intro / outdo, it's totally the most similar song to anything on here.
I just had my best listen of this so far. I've determined that this album sounds better when played loud than when played quietly.
@cwhit @DaydreamNation totally forgot this was a thing haha. Living in Canada unfortunately I don't have reason to lurk that forum often. Thanks though guys.
The three perfect Hotelier songs (in my opinion) which I think are just perfect songs in general are Your Deep Rest, Discomfort Revisited and Two Deliverances.
Have you or anyone else on staff given much of a listen to Stay Away by Young and Heartless? Not saying it would take AOTY status but I think it's so great and it's odd not to see anything about it here since their last, The Pull of Gravity, had such high praise.
This musically hit me today finally, just need those lyrics for that full effect. I wish the vinyl wasn't delayed
