I hear that too hah. I feel like a lot of the lyrics that were written down were how they were originally written but were changed during recording or something, like in Two Deliverances there's the and missing in "They hung like lace on the whitewashed face of the walls that are begging you to move and leave the things that hold a history as if they're present in your will."
I keep on hearing "to curve around your asshole heart" instead of axle heart in the beginning of Piano Player, please send help
Sort of surprised a lot of people don't seem to like that song. Probably my third favorite on here. I wish I could copy edit most things.
The second coordinates song is incredible, probably my favourite interlude since Tautou (I know it isn't an interlude as it's at the beginning but you know what I mean lol)
Have any of you who play guitar figured out any of the Goodness songs yet? I havnt had a ton of time the past couple days to sit down and try and figure it out but I know Two Deliverances is half step down Em B A C# chord progressions for the most part. Also I figured out how to play the second coordinate for the most part
imo two deliverances and settle the scar are the most accessible songs on here apparently its a song called i see the moon
This album is perfect. Weird to see people saying they don't want the spoken word intro. I think it works perfectly. Anyway I'm in love with the back to back opus that is Two Deliverences and Settle the Scar.
I'm hoping it grows on me but right now it's easily my least favorite track. It doesn't do anything to seperate itself from the rest, it just blends in. (Minus the cool drum ending)
Top three for me even though I like them all: Soft Animal You In This Light Settle the Scar & Two Deliverances
Piano Player Sun End Of Reel but yeah I love this album and this band. INGO, Home, and Goodness will stick with me for a long time I feel.
I generally hate spoken word on premise alone, it usually comes off so cheesy. However, I really love it at the beginning of this album. Similar to what @jordalsh was saying, the album reminds me of TMTMTP in many ways. One of those ways is that there is a spoken context (The Path in TMTMTP / Spoken Intro in Goodness) clearly hinting at some of the album's themes to help the listener.
Do you guys think this is a call back to home? Referring to the line on Intro "Open the curtains, singing birds tell me tear the buildings down"
This is the most obvious reference to Home that I've noticed: "Start the next postcard, share with me the news."
If someone in here who's really good at guitar figures out a few of these songs, would you mind posting tabs in here? I'm a self-taught guitar player so it's really tough for me to figure stuff out, but I would love to play a lot of these songs.
I don't like Goodness pt. 2 really at all and I'm surprised to see people list it as a favorite. Don't think the melodies work in that song (they worked better for pt. 1) and as people habe already mentioned the same boring drum beat throughout the whole thing is really annoying
