Been a while since I've opened up some new sauces that missed the mark for me but I guess I was due. This weekend I tried Angry Goat's Black Bison, fully unaware that it was a superhot with a fruit blend and tequila, so that was shocking to say the least. I've had plenty of sauces that utilize the sweetness of fruits, but idk I just couldn't get into this one. Also tried a sauce from a place in VA Beach called Speedy's and it's a citrus jalapeno green sauce but the scales tip a little far into the citrus side for my liking. I guess my big takeaway is that sauces that utilize fruit are a gamble for me haha
haha they can be hit or miss. Two of my fave fruity sauces are Dirty Dick's and Big Karma's Cherry Bomb. Both are killer.
Dirty Dick's was such a good gateway sauce for me and remains one of my faves as well! Still have yet to try Cherry Bomb though.
In the market for some new cool sauces. Hit me with your essentials, I'm a novice to the whole craft hot sauce thing for the most part. Nothing suuuuper spicy. Any flavor profile, sans cilantro.
Few in my fridge currently: Secret Aardvark Blue Top Garlic Hatch an offbrand truffle one which I don't really like Chipotle Tobasco Green Tobasco Cholula Franks Trader Joes Habanero Tiger Sauce Torchbearer BBQ and Horseradish
yellowbird habanero queen majesty scotch bonnet heatonist/hot ones los calientes heartbeat habanero small axe chicago red hot i also make my own if you want a bottle
I also have Keith's Chicken Sauce in my cart, that looks great. Might do that, Smoked Onion, Small Axe Chicago and either The Classic or Los Calientes
Forget to pause my Heatonist box this month so looks like I'm getting the new Apollo Last Dab. Curious!
My go to sauces lately have been mostly Barbados style . Cheeba Gold, Dirty Dicks gold, Shaquandas and Pirates Lantern are all amazing.
Bravado's stuff is really good I also love Heartbeat's sauces. As for the Hot Ones sauces, Los Calientes is easily the best one I've had imo. Still need to try the Garlic Fresno Classic though.
