It is that stuff. I opened it to smell and it was pretty similar to the green tobasco. It seems like it will be really good on Mexican.
Solid, looking forward to it. I also ordered a bottle of their maple sriracha. Should be good for stir fry!
Time to expand your horizons with this thread, then! Also, I guess? Maybe only if it's hot salsa? haha
My Heady Pepper sauce came today and, I have to say, I adore it. It's so, so good. I haven't tried the Maple Sriracha yet though. Also! They threw in a third bottle of sauce for free! It was the Mon Petit Chou sauce that they make with cabbage. Haven't tried that one yet either but that was so cool of them to do. They've made a permanent fan of me.
That's really awesome of them! I still haven't tried mine yet. I was planning on making fish tacos to use it on this week but ran out of time. Glad to hear it's really good
i love this thread. was super into hot sauces in college, now Hot Ones has brought me back into the mix. my mom brought some of this back home with her when she was in Uganda a few years back, and she's going again this winter, going to put in a request for a refill. also been putting this on my eggs most mornings so many on Heatonist/Hot Ones that I want to try. edit: also, had a roommate buy a bottle of the original Death Sauce and put two drops in a bowl of chili and none of us could handle it, can't imagine Mega Death.
I have this store not too far from where I live called Peppers. It's basically like a hot sauce warehouse. They sell hot sauces from all over the world and their website sorts em by heat. Pretty cool place, and online shop if anyone is interested in checking it out.. The World's Largest Collection of Hot Sauces, BBQ Sauces, Salsas - Peppers.com
I picked this one up last week. It's made in Florida and freakin delicious. Put it on some chili and used it to dip taquitos into. Not so spicy that it leaves you in pain, has a nice, almost smoky flavor that cuts through.
I've always been a huge fan of Tapatio (more-so than Chulula). Just tried Valentina for the first time yesterday. That might be my new fave.
I rotate through cholula, tapatio, crystal, and franks for my"standard" sauce, valentina is gaining my interest, though. will probably snag some next time I see it.
I used to be ride-or-die Cholula. But then I tried Valentina Black Label. Now if I'm having tacos there's only one choice.
Yeah I totally forgot to report back haha. To be honest, I was expecting it to be wayyyy hotter than it actually is. I actually think this sauce is hotter: Daves Gourmet Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce by World Market That said, it's pretty hot and it lingers too, so eating a lot of it at once could make it worse than it is. In terms of flavor, though, it's damn delicious. It's flavored with mustard, ginger, and turmeric so it has a really interesting taste and I love it.
Interesting. I'm still interested in trying it out, it sounds good. I just can't spend $20-$30 on all these craft hot sauces right now Lol
