Hey all! New to this thread, but just wanted to say hi! Haven’t been a huge hot sauce person my whole life and I’m relatively new to trying different kinds so I’ve been opening up to more and more lately. I’ll look through this thread to see recommendations anyone may have! That being said, I wanted to try and make a sauce on my own and tonight made my second batch of a pineapple habanero sauce and I’m loving it!
welcome! as far as quick recs go, two safe bets that come up in topics of discussion quite frequently are Secret Aardvark and Dirty Dick's.
Da Bomb tastes like pure motor oil so there's nothing positive to counteract the painful heat level. This is in stark contrast with something like The Last Dab, which is crazy hot but also crazy delicious so it's worth it. Really good on grilled chicken.
I'll look for it! I also need to find a store around here that carries Secret Aardvark... I've only tried it once, and I really liked it.
i have one bottle of Blair's and one bottle of Dave's that i will only use now for marinating stuff by adding a few drops to give some heat
Yeah, I may just do that actually. Why look for it all over town when I can get my hands on it in like 2 days?? haha
Dave's actually does make some good stuff that I've had. I think they have a Caribbean sauce that I really liked. I haven't had Blair's but I imagine it's a lot like Da Bomb. Anything that, like, advertises how it's going to melt your face or give you tum tum trouble is typically something I avoid though lol
