Just started the 1st of this year! Mac n cheese, pizza, eggs, quesadillas, crackers. I made vegetarian chili this weekend and put a lot of hot sauce in there.
Not a vegetarian myself but I will second hot sauce on Mac n cheese. Super underrated. And obvious yeah, quesadillas too.
Picked up trader joes habanero today. Dabbed a good bit on a chip and god daaaamn its got a kick haha. But its super tasty too.
tried some El Yucateco Green Habanero last night & it was super tasty. I want Dave to get his own episode of Hot Ones. and/or become Sean’s co-host.
Nice! Hope it’s going well. I’m never one to preach about it. I think people get too caught up in what other people eat, and people should do what makes them feel best. For me it’s been a positive thing and hot sauce just makes some recipes taste that much better.
I’m vegan and use a lot of hot sauce. Any type of veggie/black bean burger. Tacos. Pretty much any type of potato. Pulled jackfruit recipes. Stir fries and certain pasta dishes. Sometimes on steamed veggies. I don’t eat much of the meat replacements but you can throw it on tofu, seitan, or soy products. Tempeh works too. Various lentil dishes. I’ve even done it on PB&J for the hell of it before with a pickle slice (I was camping so it was fine). I look for reasons to use hot sauce.
Litterally everything I eat. I have probably a dozen different kinds of hot sauces depending on the kind of food I'm eating, and pretty much everything I eat I put hotsauce on.
If I don't put hot sauce on something, I will typicall chop up raw habeneros and sprinkle them on top. Or raw thai peppers. othertimes, I'll just sprinkle cayene pepper on stuff.
Went to a hot sauce store in Tulsa today with my coworker, it was awesome. The lady there set up her own hot ones for us with 10 sauces, on chips instead of wings. It was so fun! She put Blaire's Mega Death at number 9. The 10th one was honestly at least twice as hot as Blaire's and probably the hottest thing I've ever consumed haha. Blaire's kinda sucked tbh, it just tasted like smoke. I walked out with a bottle of Dirty Dick's and a local Oklahoma hot sauce that had awesome flavor.
Dirty Dick's is amazingggggggggg Blair's Mega Death used to be the #10 on the show, then last year it was #9 (replaced by the Last Dab), until it was dropped this current season, so that's accurate. What was the tenth sauce called? And what were some of the others?
The 10th was Grinders Death Nectar. It looked like black tar. I was surprised at how good it tasted. But within like 4 seconds I was dying. Amazon.com : Grinders Death Nectar - Extremely Hot - Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce 3.5 oz : Grocery & Gourmet Food She out the Bravado Blueberry Ghost Pepper in there and I honestly don't remember the others. A lot of local Oklahoma stuff. I know the was a scotch bonnet sauce, and a reaper sauce that she said had the highest Scoville rating but didn't even come close to touching Balires or the Death Nectar.
Right? I was wary about a sauce so fruity actually being that good, but after Sean called it "maybe pound-for-pound the best sauce on the market" last year I had to try it and I was not disappointed. The fruitiness is not overpowering at all and it has a perfect heat level for everyday enjoyment.
