I really tried because Retta is amazing but I just find the majority of the cast annoying. I also think New Girl is one of the funniest shows ever so I just put it down to different tastes

ended up watching The Eyes of My Mother and I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives In the House last night and both were good but the former was especially great, definitely looking forward to watching Piercing on Thursday. Had no idea Pesce was doing the new Grudge but that could be something special if the studio lets him get weird with it

Saw Midsommar last night. I think I like Hereditary more, but it's a very well done movie. No hidden twists, the trailers didn't leave much to the imagination for me, but I still greatly enjoyed it. The most unnerving movie i've watched in a while.

Yeah now that every post has a bunch of spoiler text I know I need to leave but I just keep wanting to look. I have to get on it ASAP and ease my pain.

I watched Annabelle Comes Home and I was basically one of the dolls from Toy Story 3. I was a little disappointed. There weren't as many jump scares as usual from the previous entry and the story bland with no excitement.

i am also struggling with this in a very real way haha

the reason i came into this thread just now was literally because i figured i was more likely to come across a spoiler-free reaction to it.

Also I'm watching Hot Fuzz right now. Yarp.

  22. Not seeing Midsommar until next Friday. The wait is brutal.

May try to watch the new Pet Sematary at some point to hold me over, though.

My girlfriend and I went to see Annabelle Comes Home last night and holy fuck, that sucked. After this movie, I’m convinced the only good movie from this series was the first Conjuring. That movie was perfect and they should’ve left it alone. I feel like it’s legacy is being tarnished by these horrific spinoffs

Instead of just complaining, I will say that nothing really scary happens until you’re like an hour in. Story is super simple but doesn’t really make sense at the same time. The ghosts are cheesy. There’s also no reason why this should’ve been R except for the fact they wanted people to think it WAS going to be scary.

Don’t mind me. I’m think I’m just mad because we passed on Child’s Play and Midsommar to see it. I told my girlfriend she never gets to pick the movie again lol
