It's one hell of an opening scene.

I fucking love that opening scene.

One of my favorite movies in HS, along with Thirteen Ghosts

Omg!! Perfect movie ngl. The opening scene as others said is iconic. I get giddy when I see that pink swirly font on screen. Such a cute touch. And I love Julianna margulies

That movie holds up! I love it. Part of me wants a zillion spin offs with each ghost getting their own story, but I think a big part of the creepy factor for me is the mystery and not having too much of their background explained so it's just creepy and tragic

The 13 Ghosts remake is actually really solid

The only thing I remember about 13 Ghosts is the guy getting sliced like bread through glass doors

I remember thinking 13 Ghosts was awful, but it’s been way over a decade since I’ve seen it. Maybe I’d find it more fun now.

13 Ghosts was from a period of horror films trying to be edgy. Many failed at this but the premise was solid, it had some cool stuff in it, and the ghosts were all really cool imo. Ghost Ship also came out at this time and that was great too.

Monk himself Tony Shalhoub fights ghosts! This was also the period of horror video game adaptations like a Resident Evil and to a lesser extent Uwe Boll movies

I hate the RE films as a RE game stan

Ghost Ship has Gabriel Byrne so it automatically gets a pass.

Pretty sure I watched 13 Ghosts only for the cast too, now that I think about it.

Agreed that that age for horror was really rough though.
