Hope it’s as much fun as the Evil Dead remake I finally saw this past Halloween, probably my favorite thing I watched that entire month.

 

It has an entirely different feel than the Evil Dead remake.

 

The Ritual was aight, lost me at the end though.

maybe a strange bone to pick but i really dislike fast zombies

 

it feels too unfair when they're fast like bye might as well just all die immediately

 

the only place i've ever found it appropriate was in 28 days/weeks later (because they aren't actually dead)

 

I've always enjoyed Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead remake.

 

So it was far far far from perfect but my god the ritual was fucking awesome. Not at all what I expected. So glad I watched it in the dark in my room. Pumpkinhead meets The Wicker Man.

 

28 Days Later is great.


I don’t mind running zombies. Slow walking ones are only dangerous in herds. Scattered ones are just like driving through a wal mart parking lot midday on a week day.

 

someday i'll get my proper world war Z adaptation. someday.

 

I don't remember that movie. No details stuck with me

good, it's terrible and it shouldn't exist.

give me an episode per chapter, with a few extras, like the battle of the five colleges. hell, make the actual movie described in the book and show that.

 

More of you need to watch Channel Zero.

It is some seriously fantastic horror.

 

Now watching all the Friday The 13ths..
Just put on part 3. I’ve only previously seen OG, 2, VIII: Manhattan, Jason X, Freddy vs. Jason and 2009 remake. Will rank them once finished but just curious to see anyone’s ranking of them here

Also, been really into 80’s horror/slasher films in the last couple years so any recommendations similar to Evil Dead, Halloween, etc would be appreciated thanks!

 

I watched the first episode of season one and thought it was just okay. I guess I should keep going?

 

The second season is on a completely different level.

 

Should I just skip season 1 and jump into season 2, or is season 1 still worth it?

 

Candle Cove (Season 1) was just OK for me. It has some really good moments, but skipping would be fine.

No End House (Season 2) is so good.

 

Looking back the writing in The Ritual was pretty terrible but boy oh boy did that movie feel like something I might have caught on television as a kid. I loved it. Who knows how it’ll hold up on a rewatch but I’m excited to find out come October

 

I'll check out season 2 of Channel Zero. The trailer for it looks cool.
