Watching Bring Her Back and I'm already irritated with every single scene involving any aspect of social casework. This must be how those doctors who review medical shows for accuracy feel. Granted for all I know it is accurate for out there and even here still cause some agencies just suck, but
Halloween II time.. (81). Criminally underrated if you ask me. Like, give it a break.. it’s not easy to make a sequel to one of the best horror films ever made.
The beginning of Halloween II nails the atmosphere of the original. I want to live in the first 20 minutes of that movie. Love when Ben Tramer gets exploded.
We better get a Tramer episode if/when that Halloween series ever gets made. We need to meet this legend.
Thinking on it a bit more and Home Haunt might be my favorite segment from VHS Halloween. Agree with @wisdomfordebris though that none of them are really bad. Weakest for me is probably the frame narrative but even that kind of gives Halloween 3 energy a bit in terms of its plot
6. Fun Size 5. Coochie Coochie Coo 4. Home Haunt 3. Ut Supra Sic Infra 2. Diet Phatasma 1. Kidprint Really solid VHS, think they were all good accept Fun Size really. And Kidprint may be the creepiest one I’ve ever seen from the series.
I initially thought Fun Size was the standout if not just because of how silly and bonkers it is, but Home Haunt was great. Seeing everyday Halloween decorations come to life felt special. The sheet ghosts made me so happy. Couldn’t have ended the movie on a better note.
I am going to try and watch tonight, this weekend has been rough. If any of my file-collecting friends on here want to be a hero and help me find a few things for the Fest, please hmu
Good Boy was cool. Indi is the best, put that doggo in all the horror movies. Loved the 72 minute runtime as well
Omfg, Casper Kelly's VHS Halloween segment is so fucking good hahaha. Just hilarious, demented, surreal nightmare shit
still need to watch it, but checked out the RT scores and i'm surprised the public hates it so much. 93% critic score but a 59% audience score?
I believe it's mostly people not vibing with Kidprint, which is extremely dark/tonally different, pair with allegations of AI use in the first segment (which, I don't know if that's true or not, just have seem some discussion about it)
The dialogue is so funny, between the overeager boyfriend and the girl being like "I'm just gonna get on the conveyer and get it over with" love the narrative segments, too
