There’s not much out there that can reach the same level of beautiful disturbing vibes that SH2 hits imho. Playing this game with a buddy for the first time is unparalleled in my memory of things that truly affected me in a strong way
Beautifully disturbing is a great way to define it. It’s definitely the most emotionally invested I’ve ever been over a horror game, that’s for sure.
not saying this has Silent Hill 2 vibes, but specific film that scares me when the vibe is right? Skinamarink, 100% I will also say a lot of found footage ghost stuff creeps me out if I watch it in a similar environment (nighttime, lights off)
Not horror but this is a safe space for trash cinema fans. I finally found Surfer: Teen Confronts Fear online!!!! I’ve been waiting for this forever. Comparisons to Neil Breen, The Room etc. Surfer Teen Confronts Fear : Douglas Burke : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive “Forget your Breens and Wiseaus, this is the real shit. Pure uncut art that is as impenetrable as it is thunderous. New age philosophy thrown in a blender, auto-translated into Japanese, and half-remembered back into English by a long-haired surfer prophet (made of electricity and squids) that keeps slipping into a Patrick Stewart impersonation as his uncomfortable son looks on. Features the greatest single-take performance of the year. It will haunt my dreams.”
The Long Walk was real good. Felt good to finally get back into a theater after what felt like a decent stretch. I'm gonna keep it rolling with reading King and moving onto the last book I own by him that I haven't read, The Eyes of the Dragon. After a year or so of reading nothing but sci-fi fantasy, this sounds like it will be fun for me. @Rowan5215 have you read this one?
Watching Ghoulies for the first time. Doing the TNT Monstervision hosted by Joe Bobb version for Aaron's category. For anyone that wants to do a With Gourley and Rust / Gore-Us twofer, I have The Seventh Sign Monstervision episode.
