This Night, I'll Possess Your Corpse (Coffin Joe) and The Church (Demons 3) on Joe Bob tonight. I guess this counts for my Gore-Us pick!
This was actually a fun watch if you can get past the pacing/clumsy structure. Probably up Aaron’s or OhTheWater’s alley. https://boxd.it/CV32
Mannnn the sudden switch from black and white to Technicolor for the extremely surreal Hell sequence in This Night, I'll Possess Your Corpse is some of the coolest shit I've ever seen
Murderdrone - Scary Movie (1991) Monstervision - Ringu (The Last Drive In) Death Harvest - Trick r Treat Pet Sematary - Good Boy Fear Factor - Sting BOOMSTICK! - Scary Movie (2000) Thirty - Hill House and/or Bly Manor, or something starring someone else entirely Y2J - Audition That's Not a Knife - Slotherhouse Help Me Be a Human - Society Cult Classic - Mandy Flop Era - Jennifer's Body The Big Three - Halloween, F13, NOES - the first of each, for the first time Worst of the Best - TBD, depends on which one i like the most Blockbuster - Dead Silence Tales of Terror - VHS2 Grimoire - Hubie Halloween tentative. would like your thoughts on whether they fit the categories
genuinely shocked (and impressed) to see you try Audition. Kudos - it's very good, but definitely challenging from a violence standpoint.
Man, one of the fondest Halloween season memories I have is when I first bought the F13 boxset and watched through all of them for the first time, probably 2018. Such a vibe. Which ones have you seen? I unironicallly love it so much Hell yeah king. Need Paul Rust to finally get around to this one
Not Terrifier bad, but it's got at least one pretty notorious sequence that might make you squirm. Then again, I struggle with needles and eye stuff
Big Three Essentials: - Friday the 13th - Friday the 13th Part 2 - Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter - Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives - Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (love it or hate it, it's an experience) - Halloween - Halloween II - Halloween III: Season of the Witch - Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (arguable, but the last very good original) - Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (an unintentional, nonsensical banger and Paul Rudd's film debut) - Halloween (2018) - A Nightmare on Elm Street - NOES 2: Freddy's Revenge (perhaps the gayest horror film ever made) - NOES 3: Dream Warriors - Wes Craven 's New Nightmare (I'm not as hot on it as most, but it's very much a dry run for how meta Scream is) - Freddy vs. Jason (pure 2000s nu-metal junk food trash) I would include more personal favorites like Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (Jason vs. Carrie), but I think the above pretty much covers the best (and best of the worst) of the big three.
If I was smarter and more talented, I would make one of those fun flowcharts showing where to start with each and where to go next based on what you enjoy. Sorry, I took half an Adderall to get through TLDI so I'm zooming lmao.
Halloween movies I haven’t seen: 4 (I think I half-watched this at some point) 5 6 Resurrection F13 movies I haven’t seen: 3 4 New Beginning Manhattan Hell X Freddy vs Jason
Yee, see above but Halloween 3, F13: The Final Chapter, Jason Takes Manhattan, and FvJ are all essential slasher viewing for different reasons imo. FvJ is somehow the most convoluted dumb movie I've ever seen, but is also so incredibly easy to watch
Oh I love Halloween 3. F13: The Final Chapter is one of those movies I know I’m going to like based on everything I’ve heard, so I’ve just sort of been saving it for the right time, which will hopefully finally be this October!
Sorry, I meant Halloween 4 haha but yeah, you'll love The Final Chapter... hoestly making me want to fire it up myself sooner rather than later.
The house they filmed it at is only about an hour from me. I’d love to sneak in and watch the movie inside of that house one night.
Never heard of Die’ced, but that title is choice lol. Watching Splinter now. Super effective given the effects and acting.
