I still haven’t watched this because I used to have trailers enabled on my Plex, which is a feature I love, but it showed me that one an unbearable amount of times and now it just sort of feels like I’ve seen the movie and found it annoying. I’ll get over that and watch it someday though!

Did a "Night of the..." triple feature once with Comet, Creeps, and Demons. All of those are a ton of fun.

Night of the Creeps and Night of the Demons are both so good. The latter is an all timer for me that I watch every October.

Ohhh def have to do night of the creeps soon. What was the quote? “Good news is your dates are here. Bad news? They’re dead.”

Night of the Comet, same director as the future cult classic and incredible film RATZ!

It’s like a Yorgos directed DCOM, it’s so ridiculous for what it is. I watched on my birthday two years in a row, it’s very fun with a group.

Aquatic Horror trivia tonight, wish my team luck! Wish we got the original Godzilla as part of the rubric instead of the Abyss, but still a fun list:

    Jaws
    Jaws 2
    Deep Blue Sea
    Piranha
    Alligator
    Crawl
    The Host
    Underwater
    Leviathan
    Deep Rising
    The Abyss
    Creature from the Black Lagoon
    Humanoids from the Deep

I haven’t seen Lake Placid in years, but was shocked it wasn’t on the list, too. That and Deep Blue Sea were critical video store rentals for me growing up.

The new IKWYDLS was pleasantly surprising but idk if the execution was there for what they decided to do. But wow kinda shocked that they took it there! So many hilarious lines (whether intentional or not) and telling a killer bearing down on you that they can have the code to your crypto wallet earlier on gave me a clue of where we were headed with this new young group of rich kids. Will be fun to rewatch this next July

Edit: also this nails the overall vibe and tone of the original, at least on the surface. The opening shots were pretty much spot on, as well as the more modern music choices. It’s a retread for sure but it shows a lot of love to the og

I’m sure it’ll do as little for me as most of the other VHS movies but I can’t not watch that.
