Love both House and Devil's Rejects. Rejects is the better movie, just a completely different vibe. Luckily he stopped there and did not make a horrible third movie to end the trilogy on an embarrassingly bad note!
The Devil's Rejects is the second-best film he's made if that helps @koryoreo I cannot in good conscience really vouch for anything else
I watched a spoilery recap of Lake Mungo on tiktok and it sounds very weird and not for me. idk why there's a CSA subplot in what's otherwise a pretty standard ghost story
I've still not watched Lake Mungo even though a lot of people have recommended it to me. just unsure I'll really like it
Now I just need @Rowan5215 's category to finalize the list. Also, if anyone wants to throw in an extra credit category, I think we can do one or two more in addition to the worst rated sequel to the big 3 and the make it a blockbuster night.
Speaking of Zombie, I thought the first Halloween remake he made wasn’t awful. It’s still near the bottom of Halloween films, but after H2 it isn’t that bad. I think his best direction was with devil rejects even though I still don’t like it. Conceptually it felt more cohesive than anything else I’ve seen from him. That said, I have no idea who is target audience is, but it’s not me lol. Those films are way too vulgar to the point of it being obnoxious. Like, we get it, you think saying the f-word 100 times is dramatic, but come on. Expand that vocabulary.
Hmmm...I just recently reqtched this and don't remember that detail well. It is a really good movie, though. Damn, this is a great pick The first Halloween is interesting enough -- I actually like the part that everybody hates, which is the young Michael Myers portion. Zombie's tone is fun until its not (unnecessary rape scenes, characters threatening to skull-fuck each other, etc.).
Haven’t watched/re-watched a single RZ movie since 31. They always leave me feeling so damn cynical lol.
Did anyone watch Zombie’s version of the Munsters? I never had any interest, but heard it was a huge miss.
There’s so much passion and love for the source material. Perfect, no but delightful and full of life. The Munsters is so far from being a miss. Such a silly and cozy movie despite coming from Zombie. He should make more camp comedies.
