I just watched Robin Redbreast, and if any of you are looking for folk horror, it’s only 79 minutes and I highly recommend it. It’s slow but genuinely creepy at times and the payoff is good. The writing is also great. I really loved it.
Planning on Clown in a Cornfield and Demonic tonight. Demonic has abysmal reviews, but the whole digital hell thing is such an interesting premise to me.
I’m not sure what I’m watching tonight. Possibly another folk horror movie although I want to save some for when the leaves start to change. I’m excited for Gore-Us to start but I wish we could do a horror thread watch party where we all watch the same thing.
We have the means right? I've never participated in something like that myself but there's gotta be apps and stuff for that kind of thing?
yeah i stream movies with friends via discord all the time. i think there was a horror thread discord server at one point but i mightve left it accidentally
Even if we couldn’t coordinate a proper stream, we could also just choose to watch the same thing one evening and discuss it in here or another thread or Discord.
The Bay was totally my shit and one of the best found footage movies I’ve ever seen. Gnarly visuals and flows seamlessly.
There is a Chorus.fm Horror Discord lol. We definitely have the means, it's been discussed before. I'm all for it
dude needs to slow down. I'm excited for Keeper, but i was also excited for Longlegs and was ultimately pretty disappointed by the ending. The Monkey had fun moments but as a whole it just was not for me. Ti West's X trilogy was a near-perfect run. conversely, Robert Eggers has a couple years in between his releases and those were also all good. the quality of Oz's output doesn't share the same consistency imo. Oz be doin too much edit: okay but liek Leigh Whannel took five years in between releasing Invisible Man and Wolf Man and the latter was also pretty disappointing so idk. some directors need to take their time, while some can take their time and still make underwhelming films
Oh yeah! I forgot I’m in there already. We should make something happen soon. I have no idea how to stream a movie from Discord, but if it’s just sharing a screen while the movie is playing, I think I’d probably prefer to watch the movie a better way, unless Discord does high quality video streams, and use the Discord solely as chat? (But idk, whatever’s easiest for everyone)
Honestly with my friends (and the WGAR commentaries), we usually just sync up when to hit play on a certain logo or timestamp and live chat in a certain channel. I'm sure there is probably a way to stream video, but I'm not tech savvy, so that works for me
