People should just start making Scream fan films. (Although, I suppose that didn't turn out so well in Scream VI.)
That's cool for the venn diagram of gamers who are into the franchise. I somehow still have yet to see a single film in Halloween, F13, and NOES I haven't played a lot of horror games. I guess RE and TLOU are technically survival horror. When I think of horror games tho the first things that come to mind are clips of streamers getting jump scared, usually by various smaller games where the graphics aren't even that good. Probs stuff like FNAF and the like. The Evil Within looked interesting but I got annoyed with it pretty early in and haven't returned to it
@xkaylinh i know those aren’t your thing, but if you can bring yourself to give Halloween a shot.. do it!!! (@Aaron Mook will, without a doubt, try to push for Friday.. but I’m trying to prioritize for you.)
You need to watch the original Halloween at some point this fall. Literally the month of October in the shape of a movie.
I'm at a Spirit Halloween and there's Art the Clown costumes. Think it'll be more popular than Pennywise?
Decided to watch something from the All Our Haunts Be Ours box set and I settled on Celia. Great movie, but also, what a bummer. It’s also not really horror per se - it’s more of a very grim drama with some fantastical, sometimes creepy elements.
someone in here referred to Oh, Hi! as Misery-adjacent and, now that i've watched it... basically, yeah haha
Please, please, please watch Halloween. And the first three NIghtmare films. And Halloween 3. And then Friday the 13th, Pt 2, The Final Chapter, and so on...knowing your tastes, I don't know how big you are into slashers, but most of these are definitely not "gory" is a traditional sense (or very muvh lean into the goofy side of things) and are just so, so, so cozy. I'm honestly jealous. I really think first exposure to these movies would make me fall in love with horror all over again
Nightmare on Elm Street 3 is also so good. I remembered loving it as a kid and when I finally rewatched it with my ex a couple years ago we were both pretty blown away. As good and endlessly rewatchable as the OG is, Dream Warriors is probably my favorite of the franchise.
I've only ever watched NOES 1, 2, 6, and New Nightmare. I just couldn't get into the fantasy elements of those films. The first is good. The 2nd is okay. Jack Shoulder, the director of NOES2, was one of my instructors at my university so I'm a little biased when it comes to that film. Nightmare 6 is dog water. New Nightmare is whatever. The reboot never happened.
Yeah, Dream Warriors rules. Halloween 3 also rules. Would kill to experience the first og Halloween again for the first time. Gives me chills just thinking about that prospect haha
Just did Halloween and Halloween II back to back. Always a good time. First four all range from perfect to very good for what they are.
Halloween II is the second best Halloween sequel after 2018. The original, II, and 2018 are the 3 Halloween films I'd consider the best.
Doing a found footage double feature for my birthday tonight! Watching The Bay and Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum. Pretty stoked as I’ve heard great things about both of them.
