you ever watch a movie you know is not gonna be very good just because an actor you like is in it? in Subservience, Megan Fox reunites with director of Till Death to play an android intent on replacing her owner's ill wife. the movie takes a while to get going, and even after the unnecessary slow burn it doesn't really do anything unexpected. Like Till Death, this was very much just okay. of the recent ai horror films, M3GAN and its sequel are certainly the most fun, but i don't regret watching this, or AfrAId which I watched bc it had John Cho

I have a soft spot for Megan Fox, I absolutely love Jennifer's Body and feel bad for not getting to it sooner. before that i was brainwashed into thinking she was a terrible actress only good for her sex appeal. she's not a great actress but she's not as bad as we were led to believe

 

Just watched this one for the first time and the production design blew me away. D'Onofrio is a beast of a character actor. Good movie even if it falls short of being a thoroughly great one.

Thinking about an Extra Credit category that's like Make it a Blockbuster Night - Watch a horror movie that you've never seen before, but whose VHS/DVD box or poster scared you as a little kid browsing the rental store.

 

haha never saw that one, but it would've gotten little me.

I eventually watched it, but Dead Alive was a major one for me. I know there are still a few I haven't watched.

 

Dead Alive would be my pick as well. Still never saw it

 

Dead Alive was definitely the one for me too. The fear of Jack Frost was lessened due to me being fascinated by the lenticular cover haha

Child’s Play was a big one, though I have seen it by now. Could not deal with that big Chucky face on the box. One of those images that felt like it stared at me wherever I was standing

 

Hellraiser and Silence of the Lambs were also big ones.

 

Puppet Master 6 was the cover art for me, but alas, I own all of the Puppet Masters now. Lmao. (Does not mean I have made it through them.)

 

Can’t say that it really “scared” me all that much, but I did not enjoy seeing the Jason Goes To Hell one

 

i can't remember the name of it but pretty recently when i was at amoeba i saw a dvd cover that grossed me out, front to back it was basically entirely... fleshy. idk how else to describe it.

 

Probably just the necronomicon on DVD

 

I don't think it was that. I remember it being redder/pinker
