I could see Weapons again tomorrow, but I think I’m going to see Witchboard. It looks horrible, but the OG is a blast and Chuck Russell directing it is sort of intriguing. At the very least, I’m sure I’ll get some laughs out of it.
Finally checked out Strangers Chapter 1. I didn’t hate it as much as most people, but it’s pretty bad. Completely unoriginal writing and awful acting, but I have a low bar for slasher/home invasion movies so I’ll probably catch Part 2 if it’s streaming somewhere.
Saw Strange Harvest tonight. Not bad but a little underwhelming. More creepy/disturbing than scary. Kinda played like a long Dateline episode with more gore. Might try to catch Jimmy and Stiggs over the weekend. Looks like it could be interesting. (Just wish they weren't using Eli Roth's name to push it)
started Intruder and realized pretty early on that I'd already seen it and didn't think all that much of it
I’m going at 7pm. I keep telling myself to just stay home because I’m low on sleep but then I remember popcorn.
Walmart is selling a collectors edition of Rumpelstiltskin for $17. The old print sells for like $55.
I've never seen it, but I've been trying to find this for forever. If anyone has a copy they can share let me know.
Weirdly gonna sad post in here, but just gonna say how much I love this thread. Last week, I put my 30 day notice in for my job of the last seven years. I had bittersweet feelings about it as I started my counseling career there and all the clients I've worked with over the years. Despite all I've given to the company and acting as a voice of the agency in the community, my job let me go two days later because they thought I was going to a different outpatient company and would take all my clients with me (don't worry I've taken the appropriate steps to protect my license). This job gave me so much joy but so much stress and workplace trauma over how it's treated its employees. I guess where I'm getting out it was the main source of me not watching many horror movies and following through with my interests this year. I don't start my new job until the middle of September...so I have so much more time to watch and catch up with films from this year. Even if I haven't been as active in posting, I check daily and am thankful for all the cool vibes and friendships I've made in the horror thread. Tonight I'm going to watch Opus and maybe something else if I don't fall asleep.
I have two SOVs, Hallucinations (Palonia Bros) and Twisted Issues, on the menu tonight for a podcast tomorrow
Terror Vision is killing my pockets with their 13 weeks of Halloween announcements. Everything sounds great, and they announced a mystery title today that will not be revealed until it is in people's hands, and then unable to purchase. Gimmicky, sure, but I love everything I've bought by them in the past. They have the video club ($373 for the next 15 releases), but I don't think I can justify paying that much for future titles that I might not want. At the same time, if I do wind up wanting all 15 releases, I'll wind up paying more than that to buy individually. Silly problem to have. I think I'm gonna cop the mystery title now and put trust in the label, and then wait for a sale or something to grab the titles from the announcements that I want. So far, they have announced Death by Dialogue, Hide and Go Shriek, Student Bodies and the mystery title
RUN looks so bad but in a maybe fun early 2000s way also lol at traumatika’s “we’re not permitted to show you the trailer” trailer
