Yeah it’s real Bay Area specific, but the end is so good that you’ll definitely have fun. It’s good!!
Companion is a great time. I went into that one fully expecting to hate it but was pleasantly surprised. Have any of you watched The Wolf House? I started it recently and it was absolutely stunning, but I didn’t finish because something came up. It’s pretty short and I plan to start it over from the beginning soon, and I’d suggest you do the same if extremely dark, inventive stop motion filmmaking is your jam.
@OhTheWater, @Aaron Mook, @ghostedaway, @Contender, @wisdomfordebris, @xkaylinh, @riotspray, @estebanwaseaten, @Texas Flood, @Rowan5215, @iCarly Rae Jepsen Y'all can start sending me your categories as you think of them. We still have a lot of time, but I want to get the list out on the 9/1 so we can start 9/5. Still plenty of time to join as well, let me know if you want to add your name to the list. I'm going with: Death Harvest - Watch a horror movie that features either a pumpkin head or scarecrow. (Any movie that features a scarecrow or a monster or ghoulie with a pumpkin for a head, someone wearing a jack-o-lantern mask, or a movie where at some point a pumpkin is on someone's head.) A couple examples off the dome: Pumpkinhead series Trick ‘r Treat Sleepy Hollow Halloween III & Halloween Kills Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark Dark Night of the Scarecrow Scarecrows (1988) Dark Harvest Jack-O Wacko The Barn Husk
It could be like "watch any movie that features the character Hubie Halloween" to give the illusion of choice.
The Last Drive-In - Watch a movie shown by The Last Drive-In that you haven't seen before. If you opt to watch a movie without The Last Drive-In segments or a movie you've already seen before, pick two movies instead of one.
@Daniel Cult Classic - Pick a cult! Any cult! Watch a movie about a cult that you have not previously seen. Can I do a bonus one too? I like the idea of having to pick the worst rated sequel (according to RT) out of the big 3 (Michael, Freddy, Jason) and watch that. So, according to a quick look it's either Halloween 6, Friday the 13th P8 (this is tied with P3 as the worst one on RT which was surprising), and Freddy's Dead (the remake is technically lower but I want to only consider the original runs).
examples: Emma Corrin (Nosferatu) Ayo Edebiri (Opus) Rachel Sennott (Bodies Bodies Bodies) Natalia Dyer (Things Heard and Seen) Amy Forsyth (Hell Fest) Haley Lu Richardson (Split) Sarah Catherine Cook (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It) Indya Moore (Escape Room: Tournament of Champions) Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Bly Manor [series]) Maddie Hasson (Malignant) Nicola Peltz Beckham (Our House) Liana Liberato (Totally Killer) Rachel Cook (Succubus) Ella Rumpf (Raw) a lot of these i haven't personally seen so idk how prominent each role is, might be a side character who only shows up for two minutes Advanced search
Gonna try to put the slightest bit of thought into my category rather than just saying the first thing that comes to my mind like usual. I'll try to have something for you by the end of the week @Daniel
@Daniel In Their Flop Era What's your favorite horror movie that was critically/commercially unsuccessful but you love it I know Rotten Tomatoes is flawed but ideally under a 50 on Rotten Tomatoes
I've made it about halfway through The Changeling. it's a good film so far but also a daunting one. I'll hopefully finish it up tomorrow
i rewatched Until Dawn bc i noticed it was on Netflix while i was watching Wednesday s2. i still like it, maybe not enough to buy it, but it's got some pretty fun kills
Nosferatu was alright, don’t see it leaving a lasting impression Now Houseboat Horror, the Australian SOV slasher from 1989? This is right in my Q-Zone
