Rewatched Butterfly Kisses and liked it quite a bit more on second watch. Really great execution of filmmakers following around (and being skeptical of) a filmmaker who "found" another filmmaker's footage (and is also partially skeptical of its authenticity). Lots of meta layers in a Blair Witch/urban legend-style story.
Someone here suggested that as the first found footage that i should watch and got me to get into the genre
Severin haul came in :) cannot wait to watch: - All About Evil (Peaches Christ's movie) - Bad Biology (one of my only Hennenlotter blind spots) - Night of the Demon (singular, 80s bigfoot salsher) - Rats: Night of Terror (rewatch, adored this one and happy to own the three-disc release) ...and a handful of $5 Intervision DVDs (Franky and His Pals, Suffer Little Children, The Jail: The Women's Hell, a two-hour grindhouse trailer compilation) that seem absolutely hallucinatory.
Favorite bad horror titles? The Woman in the Yard and I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House come to mind
I heard... mixed things about the book and it pretty much is the concept of Coraline lol, but Jessica Chastain always rocks it's the opposite of a bad horror title, but I found out today that Army of Darkness was originally called Medieval Dead and I'm mad they didn't stick with that
I'm still mad Freaky wasn't called Freaky Friday the 13th. I think the script was called that... Just looked it up and it was called "Killer Body". C'mon!
The artwork is sick, and I know there's usually an essay book and special features, but $60 for a single flick? Fucking insane. I could get two A24 films for that price and they would STILL be overpriced at $30 a piece
for context: that version of Frankenstein is a four disc set. there's an extended cut of the film on one 4K disc, the original cut on another, and the 1080p versions and all bonus features on the two extra Blu-ray discs. the $60 price point does suck, but the MSRP for Nightmare Alley (another 4 disc release) is also similar, so i'm not surprised (although that's currently $30 on Amazon at the moment).

I read Incidents Around the House a year or so ago and it wasn’t my favorite, but mostly because it’s written from the perspective of the little kid and that’s not an enjoyable read (though it was kinda the book’s whole thing lol)
