It was :) It was like a Japanese mixture of Verhoeven and Cronenberg with a little bit of Starship Troopers and Army of Darkness for good measure. Absolutely insane movie. Gross, but so over-the-top and fun
Saw Teenage Sex and Death early screening, a really meta movie about movies that all of this thread is going to love. Bizarre and beautiful on the best ways.
What did you think? Hot take: I think it would have done better if it wasn't called The Mummy, lol. As discussed in the movie thread, it feels way more like an Evil Dead b-side.
Not hearing great things, either. Bummer! So far this weekend.. Mothman Prophecies (Thanks @Aaron Mook ) Night of the Creeps The Fog @xkaylinh hitting First Omen tomorrow!
Real psycho stuff here. American born and raised murderdrone. Paint huffing coke snorting baby aborting madness over the most annoying casio score you will ever hear. Crack a couple cold ones and shotgun them all before you watch this bad boy
was gonna catch Evil Dead tonight with a mate but the local cinema erased the session from existence ☠️
It was fine. Not amazing but definitely interesting. Kinda overly long though! I liked how gory and intense the body horror was.
Man, disappointed to see the mixed reactions to Evil Dead Burn because I kinda fucking loved it. With the exception of some poor/unnecessary CGI at the end, I thought it was mean, gross, tense, thoughtful, stylish, and despite everything I'd read beforehand, shockingly funny. I'd definitely put it above Rise and say it ties with Army of Darkness for my current #3, but I'll have to catch up in the movie thread for more specific complaints.
So good, lmao. Troma-produced Evil Dead ripoff with a new practical effect (often creatures) every 10 minutes and not a single one of them without an absolutely insane needle-drop. So I guess it depends on what your definition of "good" is, but imo, run don't walk to watch this shit on YouTube or Prime lol I can't believe it wasn't on my radar earlier
