The F13 set from Shout Factory is maybe the best investment I've ever made lol. I watch most of them once a year minimum.
ended up going with the director's cut of Army of Darkness. like Evil Dead 2, i think i had more fun when i surrendered my desire to see something more in line with the first movie. some great stuff throughout, but boy, they could've dialed down the slapstick elements
It's such an outlier, doesn't really fit with the other films but I imagine it's a blast in a packed theater.
i think the tonal disconnect between the first and second movies really threw me for a loop that i ultimately had a much better time with this one knowing i was getting something more comedic than gory. we'll probably watch Fede's remake next. i know it's got a mixed reception critically, but i'm ready to return to something a little more fucked up.
Watched Tinsman Road, decent found footage ghost movie. I think I'm really just not that big of a found footage guy.
I feel vindicated by someone enjoying The Evil Dead more than Evil Dead 2. Army of Darkness is one of those all-timers though that I feel like might not hit the same if you don't have a nostalgic attachment to it. Also feel like Evil Dead 2013 comes up pretty consistently now as one of the best remakes of that time and frequently shows up as a favorite of Evil Dead fans, myself included. You are very much in for a treat. tbf, this is the same guy that made The Outwaters, which was terrrribble

Evil Dead 2013 is my favorite in the series (and kind of... by far). Army of Darkness is pretty easily my least favorite, I don't dislike it but a lot of the humor doesn't land for me
It’s my favorite in the series as well. Maybe the best horror remake/reboot/whatever of all time for me. Everything just works so well for me
i've only seen Evil Dead 2013 and Evil Dead Rise, and i plan on seeing Evil Dead Burn. haven't looked into the og/2/Army of Darkness yet tho
