The footage coming out of the new F13 series is cool - mainly cause its incredibly topical for me in the thick of the movies but also having new F13 content to watch in October of 2026 is wild
Diving into Hokum tonight. Hoping for good things. Haven't seen or read anything about it. Caught up on Widow's Bay last night. Still need to get to the theater for Backrooms.
yeahhh that's basically how i felt about it. superb execution but the story specifically how it fridges both female characters is a little underwhelming
while i prefer concise 1.5 hour horror films, i think it need an extra 20-30 minutes to flesh some stuff out
Trailers Minions preroll Bleach movie Smart water ad Hunger games--wait why is this cast so fucking stacked Resident evil The dog stars Odyssey Evil dead burn!!! Leviticus Onslaught Primetime
Backrooms was good not great. Probably on par with Hokum for sorta the same reasons: good vibes, good execution, but story feels a little lacking
smdh rewatching Evil Toons. so dumb and cheap and horny lol. Couldn't help but notice Freaked is on Prime, about due for a revisit on that one. I rented it a lot as a kid.
i liked Backrooms and Obsession quite a bit, but definitely prefer Backrooms. haven't seen Hokum yet, but definitely need to
Obsession Backrooms Hokum For me, with a decent gap between each although I enjoyed all three. Obsession is up there with the best of the decade.
The one thing that really bothered me about Obsession is that the time on the alarm clock in Bear's room changes drastically in one particular scene.
it really bothered me both times i saw it haha. it's one of the couple things from that movie that makes me raise an eyebrow when someone calls it a "masterpiece." (even though i fucking love it, and am dying to see it a third time.)
I love that Obsession is the biggest movie of the year because it IS a little rough around the edges. It’s not perfect. It’s almost punk rock. And I’m rooting for it and standing by it hard. I’m a little drunk so whatever.
watched Dark Water with the family for the first time tonight. it is pretty funny how shamelessly it wants to be The Ring - oh its just another American remake of a Koji Suzuki adaptation with a drab colour palette and the most beautiful woman you've ever seen as the lead. even has the ending fakeout where it seems like the ghost is at peace before the last act kicks in despite all that I kinda liked it lmao. good performances from everyone but Jennifer Connelly was just acting everybody else off the screen, the kind of performance that really makes you gutted she didn't do more horror. the central mother-daughter relationship really hit for me, just felt a lot more real than you often get in these types of movies
Watching Texas Chainsaw for the first time tonight at a 16mm showing. Pretty stoked. Also…. Backroom=Obsession Hokum
