My galaxy brain thought about it was why wouldn’t the older guy in the desert just smash that bottle against his knee. The patella is pretty hard my friend!
Scary Movie is about what you'd expect for a new iteration in 2026. Loved the primary storyline settling entirely on Scream 5 and that they got all the og cast from the first one back for this, even if some of them were essentially cameos. The kid playing the Jack Quaid stand-in does a really good job haha essentialy nails the Richie character from Scream5
Just finished reading Pocketknife Kitty. Pretty good body horror novella. Definitely for fans of It Follows, big influence on it there for sure
Hell yeah. This is a great psychological horror flick for folks who haven't seen it. I'm due for a rewatch, so maybe I'll make that happen this weekend.
Saw Backrooms last night and I liked it a lot. Really got under my skin. It’s cool that this and Obsession are bringing people out to the theater (most packed I’ve seen AMC in years) but I feel like it’s brought out people who’ve never stepped foot in a movie theater before lol.
The audible OH HELL NO from a packed room when he finds the room with the Christmas tree made it all worth it.
definitely had a worse crowd at Obsession. bunch of people talking or laughing at unexpected times (i.e. during parts that obviously weren't as funny)
There was a whole row of people quietly chatting behind me during Scary Movie last night but the movie was so bad I didn't really care... ...until I turned around and saw 3 sets of barefeet up on the recliners.
Luckily the rows are staggered and have partitions, so they weren't near really me but it was still terrifying to turn around and see.
I was relieved to have a seemingly respectful crowd during Backroooms, until the empty seats next to me were filled with two dudes showing up 10 minutes late who whispered back and forth to each other through the rest of movie. The dude immediately next to was must have been stoned as hell because he was audibly and visibly trying to hold back from bursting into laughter the entire time he was in there
On a different note, excited to watch Cam. Remember wanting to see it years ago and completely forgot about it
Yes! Had a blast with it. Very dumb and fun - Cam is much darker and smarter iirc. I was lucky to catch Obsession opening week before people started seeing it en masse, so it was a scattered crowd, and Backrooms crowd was great which was SHOCKING considering how many 12-year-olds were in there lol
I didn't think Keeper was particular good, but I also haven't stopped thinking back on it since seeing it, so that counts for something. Very strange film. Trying to hit Cam, Please Baby Please, Crash, and The Shrouds this weekend, I think.
