Demonwarp was not as wild as I’d hoped. Dumb and fun but it felt like it was made by a normal person not an insane person

things have never been stranger Prestigious

Anyone else enjoy ENYS MEN? It mostly flew under the radar, but give the trailer a shot.

If you wanted SKINAMARINK to be a little more LAST YEAR AT MARIENBAD... this scratches that itch (personally loved it.)

  7. Loved Backrooms. Pretty shocked. Went in figuring I would enjoy it but guarded because of the Redditness of it all (I've only seen the original short) and it really, really exceeded my expectations. Like a mix of Blair Witch Project, Annihilation, and Being John Malkovich.

Our theater was full of (mostly) children and I cannot imagine what they thought of it compared to, like Five Nights at Freddy's lmao. Great, well-behaved crowd though. Probably tied with Obsession for my favorite of the year so far.

The Diablo Cody dialogue in this still stinks for the most part but Megan Fox is shockingly good.

It’s one that gets better each viewing, it’s so good at whatever it’s doing

You should add the Ugly Stepsister, Frankie Freako, Stop Motion, Deadstream, and the Rebecca Hall Resurrection to your list if you haven’t seen tjose

  11. sorry in advance lmao.

Spo Picks that I donn't see you rating on Letterboxd (I'm sure you've seen some of these):
    Black Phone 2
    Weapons (and Barbarian)
28 Years Later (and The Bone Temple)
    Maxxxine (and Pearl)
    The Substance
    Late Night with the Devil
    Bodies Bodies Bodies
    NOPE
    Deadstream
    V/H/S/94
    Censor
    Ready or Not
    Midsommar
    The Void
    Green Room
    They Look Like People
    It Follows
    You're Next
    Father's Day
    The Loved Ones
    The House of the Devil
    Trick 'r Treat (and Krampus)
    Slither

Other standouts that may or may not be your vibe:
    The Shrouds
    Nosferatu
    Companion
    Heretic
    Cuckoo
    Infinity Pool (and Possessor)
    Mandy

Stuff that no one but me liked:
    Trap
    Tusk

As for what you posted: first couple of Conjurings and first Insidious are fun enough. Evil Dead 2013 and Rise are a hoot. I don't have great confidence that you'll love Skinamarink lol but I'd love to be wrong. Hopefully you find some good shit in here.

  16. Def may have missed some of them when skimming, not sure, but glad you found some to add anyways!

Forgot to mention - Longlegs kind of stinks and I don't think you'll like it, but I'll be curious to hear your thoughts.

The stool scene in Titane is one of my favorites in any horror movie, and then the rest takes such a drastic turn in an already weird movie. Just a good time.

Would you take a mature 12 year old to see Backrooms?
