Obsession was really good. kinda got Talk to Me vibes from it. pretty darn horrifying, but moreso from the perspective of the person who's trapped in her own body. ...and from the perspective of the entity that's stuck there with her. not "mean spirited," just very bleak. i didn't find it funny. absurd, mayhaps? shocking? ppl were laughing at everything tho, it honestly got kinda annoying and took me out of the movie. i don't really sympathize with Bear, he got exactly what he wished for and was okay with all the convenient parts, meanwhile Nikki is put through hell. he only started trying to fix things when ppl started dying. it didn't matter to him that she wasn't actually there anymore. nominate this guy for worst "partner" in a horror film alongside the guy from Midsommar and the guy from Companion.
I don’t think we’re supposed to. Is most consistent character trait throughout the film is being a coward. Watched for the second time tonight with some friends, great time. The party scene is so good. Inde needs to be in so many more movies.
What kind of projector did you pick up my man, and how’s it working out so far? I have a very very cheap one that I’ll be looking to upgrade soon and could use a point in the right direction. Or at the very least, away from the wrong direction. Haha
Read that Curry Barker has ideas to turn Obsession into an anthology. Better than a direct sequel but part of me thinks it’s better to just leave it alone. I’d still watch the hell out of it if it happens obv
Yeah I spotted on IG an interview he did and he said he wants to make a TV series--each episode being someone making a diff wish and the impacts those have. Could be interesting
