I know they wrote the film companion for their NIN album but celebrities getting production deals without even having the script written is crazy to me lol
Thought Obsession was pretty fucking awesome. It’s not a super original idea but the performances really elevate the film for me. Especially Inde Navarrette’s. Don’t be surprised if you start seeing her in a lot more soon
Inde was incredible. Like, an Oscar-worthy performance. I will say (and I’m not a giant horror movie guy, though I like the genre) I did not expect it to be as dark and mean as it is. There’s definitely some triggering stuff and maybe that’s just horror in general. But very well-made.
Yeah, I found some of it hard to watch tbh. Anyway, still gathering my thoughts. I think the constant tonal whiplash worked surprisingly well - I found myself on edge practically the whole movie as a result. Definitely too mean for me at times but I also laughed quite a bit. Inde was indeed great. I thought some of the movie looked bad? Overall I don’t think I loved it but I think most of you will.
Enjoyed Obsession quite a bit. I don't know if it was doing anything particularly new or special but it was effective and had me locked in for the full runtime. And yeah, Inde was fantastic
Widow's Bay has been pretty great so far. It's funny and legit scary and atmospheric and is able to strike the tone perfectly. I like the Monster of the Week stuff while still having an overarching story about whatever is going on with the island. Great cast, great setting.
Saw Obsession and despite a few leaps in its own logic - it was awesome. If the academy actually respected the genre, Inde would definitely be getting some recognition for her performance. Talk about commitment.. reminded me of Naomi Scott in Smile 2 in a way. Anyways, very much excited for Curry’s future after this. What an absolute banger to debut with!
Yeah Widow's Bay absolutely rules. Legit creepy at times but very very funny as well. Awesome island design too. I'd live there.
