agreed with all of that pretty much. we as a society should have never let Joss Whedon anywhere near Alien

 

there were a lot of things we shouldnt have let him near

 

I would easily watch Resurrection again over 3, even the assembly cut. I like Fincher but 3 just isn't good. Resurrection isn't good but at least it's somewhat fun to watch.

 

Yeah Resurrection is a fun re-watch, 3 not so much, even if I think 3 is probably better. Alien 3 does get bonus points for Charles Dance and Charles S. Dutton though

But the alien/ripley baby is still so weird lol

 

Resurrection isn't "good" in the traditional sense, but it's really fucking campy, and might tie with Covenant for the best gore in the series (although some moments in Earth were also up there for me too). ³ is tonally morbid, but i've grown to like the Assembly Cut more with each new viewing (never seen the theatrical cut). the rod puppet still looks super rough though.

 

I honestly dont' think I've ever seen teh Assembly cut and I need to fix that. But I think every time I've seen Alien 3 it's been on tv/cable/premium channel so I never sought it out myself

 

Alien 3 is good purely because of Morse if nothing else. his "FUCK!" when the warden gets got is legendary

 

Hahaha yeah he is probably my favorite prisoner in the movie, Dance and Dutton's performances aside

Alin 3 is good, Alien Resurrection is...not good, but very weird and kind of fun, at least. Both are a little disappointing on first watch, of course

Faces of Death was pretty decent. Thought it was kinda weird that the slasher kills were mostly off screen whilst all the video stuff was front and center.
