  1. was gonna make the same joke again that it's just I Saw the TV Glow ten times but eh, i'll see what i can come up with. might be challenging to find a balance between the silly ones and the serious ones in a single list as well as rank them

TCM2 is one of my favorite movies. I’ve only seen it once whereas I’ve seen the original multiple times, but I honestly think I might prefer it. It’s just my kind of unhinged.

All good picks, consider venturing into the Friday knockoffs of the 80s or some SOV trash. A lot of them are unhinged enough to cross over into transcendent stuff. Really inspiring too, anyone can make a movie

Dangerous Animals was pretty decent. Biggest gripe is people being underwater for what feels like ages lol

  5. Currently reworking my Top 10 so I'll get that posted in here at some point.

The Head is some real freak cuckoo bananas SOV horror-comedy shit and it a must-watch for the Terror Vision crowd in here (and specifically @OhTheWater )

Speaking of.. there seems to be an effort to preserve the Monroeville Mall as a “historical landmark” for its role in DotD. Not sure how possible that is.. but would be cool.

I haven’t been there in years but it’s not doing great. A lot of empty stores.

  12. Fwiw I fell asleep watching it last night, but I was exhausted and that doesn't reflect the quality of what I saw lol

  13. Yeah Ken Foree was pushing for it to be preserved as a historical landmark. Would be cool and way better than a Walmart, but I also feel strongly when I see unused building like that, that they should be converted for use by unhoused folks (which is a pipe dream unfortunately)

Totally fair. I heard there’s like a brick wall that was shown in the film that everyone had signed.. even if it’s just to preserve that piece! Something!

Tonight’s watch is Mind Killer. It’s a mix of Scanners and Revenge of the Nerds, but without the charm. The dialogue is soooooo bad in a fun way though.

Without putting a ton of thought into it, these are the essential/formative ones for me. Will have to think about a final pick (maybe From Dusk Tul Dawn or NOES)/a true ranking.

    The Thing
    The Fly
    Child's Play
    Aliens
    Texas Chainsaw Massacre
    Saw
    The Exorcist
    The Shining
    The Greasy Strangler

  21. Thought about doing the "just one from each director" thing (Get Out probably could have made my Top 15) but it's just too good man

It's so hard to make a list like that and try to be true to yourself and then I realize I'm not only missing a bunch of the weirdo SOV stuff I love, but also F13 sequels and like, The Blair Witch Project. Letterboxd/Bias Sorter may not have been the way to approach such a Hurculean task

  23. I got Triangle on Blu-ray! I saw it at Amoeba a couple months ago but when I came back for it it was gone but when I came back again today it was there so I grabbed it! I asked the guys at the help desk if I'd have trouble playing it since it says Region B on the back and one of them says he owns a bunch of Umbrella releases and they play here just fine, and when I got home and tried it out surely enough it worked! Might not rewatch tonight since I'm exhausted from a busy weekend (incl LA Pride today!) but I'm really excited to revisit this one. I don't think I appreciated it enough the first time I watched it, I was surprised how much it stuck with me afterward. I think the concept for this movie is just so fucking cool
