I just found out Wheatley directed Meg 2: The Trench which is both hilarious and baffling, what is this man's career
when i watched Forbidden Fruits i totally forgot where i knew the name Lola Tung from: she's played Eurydice in Hadestown on Broadway. I've only seen it once on tour in LA but I love the OBCR so for me the fact that she can put that on her resume is such a huge flex
I hope it doesn't take us like a decade to collectively appreciate how good stuff like Forbidden Fruits and Lisa Frankenstein are, like we did with Jennifer's Body
she's also in the summer I turned pretty, I always get confused since Lana Condor is in To All The Boys
I loved Lisa Frankenstein. Did not love Forbidden Fruits at all but I will probably rewatch it (well within ten years, I promise!) since everyone else seems to love it.
damn i was hoping to catch hokum on thursday at 4pm like i usually do new releases but it only has 7pm and 9pm showtimes that day, i probably won't be able to watch it until saturday
I think Lisa Frankenstein is definitely better. Still so underrated. But Fruits is really fun for what it is.
I feel like I'm in a slump lately. Watching a lot of public domain stuff obviously to screen for future showings (Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow was ridiculous and super fun), but I'm looking for very specific types of movies. Like...underseen 70s/80s slasher-adjacent stuff and then the best modern Shudder Original-level stuff. I have Ghostkeeper and Marshmallow on the docket to check out soon.
