LC Mummy looks sick. Can’t wait to see that one. Just started Thrash on Netflix (horror adjacent?) and boy I can already tell this is gonna be…something.
I think if you enjoyed Evil Dead 2013 and Rise, you’d enjoy this. I find how “far” they all 3 go to be very similar.
The Mummy is less mean and more sad at moments because of the kid stuff, but then immediately undercut by the Evil Dead tone lol. Basically no way that wasn't originally a sequel to Evil Dead Rise that was rewritten to be a Mummy film (the cop stuff feels like it's from a different, and honestly more interesting, movie), but it was still so fun and shameless with the spectacle of it all that I didn't really mind. Didn't feel the length, either. Good, fun flick.
Hell yeah, so glad you enjoyed!! Remains one of my favorites and I still think it's an underrated and unfortunately prcient vision of real American horror.
Has anyone seen Screamwalkers (Sean King) or any of Diamond Packard's flicks (Reflections of Evil, Foxfur, Fatal Pulse, etc.)? Thinking of diving into some more indie stuff
i'm nervous/excited for Hokum, looks like it'll be 2spoopy4me without being too gory. haven't been this creeped out by a monster design since Babadook
