the only thing fun for me was that they were in Highland Park in Dallas and hearing all of the Dallas references (as someone who grew up there), even though Northpark Mall was RIGHT THERE. I just think the story was incoherent and while some fun horror moments near the end, the "twist" felt very shoehorned in. I also realize I probably was not the target audience for it so there was quite a bit of cringe for me, personally. Obviously I am one person and you can always take my opinion with a grain of salt. I can see why people like it, just wasn't for me.
I feel like I’ll end up agreeing with you but I just checked the seating again and I would be one of three people in the auditorium for Forbidden Fruits as opposed to one of MANY for The Drama, so Forbidden Fruits it is, haha.
Loved Forbidden Fruits, was the Drama worth seeing? I kind of want to get spoiled but I kind of don't
Favorites so far this year: 1. Obsession 2. Forbidden Fruits 3. 28 Years Later the Bone Temple 4. Send Help 5. Ready or Not 2 Good year so far, I loved all of these
Interest in The Drama kind of deflated for me, not just because I know the spoiler but also because of that essay the director wrote defending grooming a 16-year-old (and praising Woody Allen)
Zombie finally doing TCM is maybe one of the things I'm interested in seeing him do tbh. Hoping A24 can reign in the quality a bit
Forbidden Fruits was okay. Didn’t really work for me on any level, but I did chuckle a few times and everyone was hot. I was mostly just kind of bored? I also thought it looked like shit but I’m wondering if that was just the theater; it looked dark and drab. Thought Victoria Pedretti was pretty funny and all the performances were good.
Forbidden Fruit will be one of those cult classics that everyone quotes all the time. So many funny one liners.
Yikes, read up on this and it really does suck. So I just looked up the main premise and now I'm good. Its a shame, I really liked Sick of Myself too. What is with directors and being shitheads?
Watching Seeding of a Ghost which, besides an SA scene, is really fun so far. I’m also about an hour and a half into Videoheaven and yeah, I still highly recommend it. Not only is my watchlist growing by the minute because of it, but it also features plenty of horror (including five minutes or so that are spent on Video Violence which I now want to give another shot). edit: as I was typing this, someone started puking up worms and now I am even more into Seeding.
You think it'll go down as one of those misunderstood greats like Jennifer's Body and Lisa Frankenstein? (I feel like The Bride! fits into that category as well but most ppl here seemed to not like it)
Lollll seeding of a ghost ruled. The last like 45 minutes were insane and very much my shit. Really fun gross-out practical effects.
