I liked ready or not 2 more than the first. Just saw the first last week

  2. About 25 minutes left in The Void and it's still so sick. Like someone put Hellraiser, Evil Dead, The Thing, and Silent Hill in a blender

  3. Also got to introduce a couple of friends to The Thing this weekend, so that was fun

Had a big past few days prepping for Feminine Rage horror trivia this Thursday:

    Ginger Snaps
    Raw
    May
    Revenge
    Audition (rewatch)

For those curious, the rest of the “syllabus” is:

    Carrie
    American Mary
    The Loved Ones
    Pearl
    Ready or Not
    Companion
    Death Proof

Still need to check out American Mary and the Loved Ones, but really awesome slate.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it, definitely can understand why it’s a cult favorite. Lead performance is fantastic.

  8. Scream 7 wasn’t as bad as I was expecting.

  9. Kind of think The Void is a masterpiece. Straight-up some of the coolest practical effects I've ever seen in a movie. And it's lean - less than 90 minutes, no filler.

Decided to go back to Potrykus and continue my cosmic horror week with The Alchemist Cookbook.

Ready or Not 2 was good fun. Awesome cast. Can see this topping the first with more rewatches

I need to watch The Void. I watched maybe 20 minutes of it back when it came out and at the time I found myself thinking, “why not just watch an actual Carpenter movie?” and that’s exactly what I ended up doing, which was probably unfair.

  12. I watched it after The Thing this weekend and it is for sure a pastiche of a handful of horror hits, The Thing maybe not even being the most prominent, but when you're that good at playing the hits, I don't really mind the lack of originality.

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Vulcanizadora and am very curious about the other Potrykus movies.

  14. I'll report back about The Alchemist Cookbook. I like it so far, very sparse. I'm excited about Relaxer because it has David Dastmalchian in it.

Literally figured this out for the first time with my wife like two weeks ago. It’s in my letterboxd review I think. We felt so dumb.

Ready or Not 2 was really fun, better than the first. Kathryn Newton is great and they have a really good signature hit with the blood explosions.

Just watched Scream 7 at home.

Even removed from the gutlessness and cowardice behind the scenes… man, what a steaming pile of shit.

  20. I'm not the biggest fan of 6, but I'm baffled by anyone calling it better than the Radio Silence films just because Neve is there. Reveal aside, the "cameos" from previous characters are so cheap and so, so bad

I'm avoiding the theater run because Fuck Spyglass and Free Palestine, but idk if I'm even going to watch it when it's streaming based on most of what I've heard lol pretty relieved, honestly. I've said this to an exhausting degree, but the franchise as a whole is my favorite thing and I never thought I'd happily avoid watching a new Scream movie. Oh well, I've got 6 other movies that are either perfect or pretty entertaining at least, and 3 seasons of a tv show that were pretty mediocre but still enjoyable somehow

That’s exactly how I feel. I might not even bother pirating it unless someone asks me for it.

quite frankly, it isn't worth pirating lol

  24. i pirated it and it was entertaining enough for me, flaws and all. a few of those movies come with very similar flaws.

Just painful, they were so forced. And all of the plot/dialogue callbacks, already cringe-inducing enough, felt even worse knowing it’s essentially KW referencing… himself.

To clarify, I didn’t watch in a theater. HD is “out there.” But yeah, happy I didn’t waste a weekend afternoon even just sneaking in. I was shocked by how bland and tensionless it was, did not feel like Scream at all.
