  2. The Last Video Store was a lot of fun. Lots of fake movie footage and B-movie characters/creatures/villains. Very reminiscent of the Astron-6 films, and only like 75 minutes. Feels like something @OhTheWater and @wisdomfordebris and the other LaMartina heads in here would enjoy.

Has anyone gone down the Joel Potrykus rabbit hole? Watching Vulcanizadora now, very much like a mumblecore, horror-adjacent black comedy drama. A few of his films just got added to Shudder, that's his most recent.

undertone was fine. I don’t think it brings anything different to the table imo. I was pretty invested throughtout, but the payoff didn’t hit for me

  6. was gonna see Slanted today after going to the dentist but i guess going to the dentist took more out of me than i thought, i changed my mind and canceled my A-List reservation five minutes before showtime. will try to go see it sometime between Ready or Not 2 and They Will Kill You, or hope it's still playing after. i probably won't get to Undertone

I thought Undertone suuuucked. Another movie where nothing happens, nothing is paid off, just a lot of tension then flickering lights and crayon drawings. I had my hopes lowered, but people thought this was the scariest movie in years? Yeesh.

I still am a hater of religious horror, and this had a lot of that, but still, if you’re going to make up lore at least show us the monster. All we got was a demonic prank call into their podcast and the dying mom walking backwards.

Went with a big group, everyone was pretty underwhelmed.

  8. To be fair, I don't know if anyone but one or two convenient pulls quotes actually thought it was the scariest movie in years. It was fine.

  9. Jfc man, I don't think a movie has made me feel this bad in ages. The Long Walk did a number on me too, but oof. This was next-level fucked (despite nothing extreme happening on-screen). Also very good, I think.

i'll add that and the last video store to my watchlist

Rewatched Ready or Not last night in anticipation of seeing the new one today. Still such an absolute blast and I always forget how it truly ends and it still kills me every time.

so excited for that sequel, Samara Weaving's goat screech scream is iconic

I really didn’t like Buzzard from the same director, would you say this one is better?

  16. Have not watched his others, but it's next on my list.

Ready or Not 2 was largely fine, but I was honestly a bit underwhelmed sadly. Still a fun time overall though!

that's a shame to hear. I didn't realise it was out here yesterday, probably would have used my free ticket on that instead of Hail Mary

Thought RON2 was about as good as a sequel could be, which is solid fun.

  23. Looking forward to using my free ticket for the month on it. It looks like more of the same, which is fine. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Probably doing Scream 7 tonight not paying for it along with a rewatch of The Void
