  1. Damn, didn't realize Dolly wasn't on Shudder yet...going to finish Birdeater before F13 Part 2. If anyone gets to Bodycam, let me know. Didn't realize that was the same director as Night of the Reaper and Z (neither of which I have seen)

Watched Occult, from the guy who made Noroi. Pretty simple, but kind of fun concept.

  3. Birdeater is... fucking crazy, lol. Truly unconventional horror. Some absolutely wild sound design and visuals. I don't know if it's a great film, but it made my jaw drop a few times. Lowkey hilarious that it's about taking so much ketamine that a bachelor party lap dance turns into a Skinamarink-tinged episode of my Twin Peaks. Won't be for everyone, but if that doesn't get you interested, I don't know what will lol. On Shudder now!

  4. Did not expect to be seeing Undertone with a friend in 45 minutes, pleasant surprise :)

Checking out Undertone in a bit, then might sneak into Scream 7 afterwards because I’m definitely not giving them money.

  6. Keeper was only good until the last ten to fifteen minutes, after which it was great ; I'm hearing Undertone is sort of the same? One heck of a slow burn where there's a bunch of buildup but no actual scares for most of it. One of the tiktokers I follow had a rather explicit way of describing it as edging haha X-(:skull:

Someone else said it might benefit from waiting for streaming and watching with a good set of headphones since the theater experience actually hindered the experience for them. I can't say I'm not intrigued by the whole concept but there's a few other higher priority films coming out in the next couple weeks so I might end up skipping this one

Did not sneak into Scream 7 on account of I didn’t want it to sully the Undertone experience.

  10. I think Undertone mostly won me over. I was skeptical at first -- a lot of the dialogue and delivery is...not great, imo -- but some of the shots and the sound design in particular were super effective, especially in my theater experience. There's a weird tonal moment/mini-monologue in the third act that really took me out for a moment, but by the time we left, I think enjoyed myself more than I didn't. Simultaneously felt like it was on the verge of something new with the sound design/focus on audio while also feeling a hodgepodge of like three other A24 movies lol.

Probably like a 6.5/10 for me at the end of the day, but would definitely recommend catching it in theaters if you're planning to see it at some point.

Thought Undertone was solid overall, but it kinda feels like the Longlegs of 2026

I think that’s a fair comparison, although I enjoyed Undertone a bit more.

Cold Storage was good dumb fun. needed to be about 10% stupider and grosser to really hit B-movie greatness but still entertaining. Georgina Campbell and Joe Keery have chemistry off the charts

need to check it out on VOD. they played trailers for it at one of our local theaters, and we were interested in seeing it, but it never showed up.

  20. The Pamela shrine in Friday the 13th Part 2 is so, so sick. Probably the coolest setpiece in the franchise tbh.

I think April is going to be my first independent film screening, and it's looking like The Brain That Wouldn't Die.
