Send Help was the kind of shit movie theaters are made for. Like of course a Raimi-directed survival horror was going to be fun, but it was such prime B-movie fare that I'm almost shocked two A-listers(?) took it on. Just so, so over-the-top and fun. Warthog scene had me hooting and hollering Also did not expect The Housemaid to essentially be an erotic thriller parody that turns into a Saw film, lmao
One of my friends said Send Help felt like a fake movie. Like a movie that a character would go see in a movie.
Maybe, but also a lot better than that sounds lol. Very much intentionally goofy (as you can imagine from Raimi) and gave me some classic 60s/70s B-movie vibes in a complimentary way. If you enjoy Raimi at all, I can't see you having a good time. He went for broke on the blood and snot and goop and constant twists and turns
Send Help was probably the most i've laughed during something "horror-adjacent" in a while. it was a really fun time. far from perfect, but it knows what it is and it makes for an enjoyable experience
The Housemaid really surprised me. Enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would based on the trailer lol
I watched Darkman for the first time a few days ago (another Raimi jam, featuring Liam Neeson) and it was pretty fun! Lots of silly shit, but that made it even more enjoyable.
don't know anything about the game but just impulse caught Iron Lung and it was pretty good. some real intense claustrophobic stuff
Happy Friday the 13th to those who observe...I think it's Part V for me tonight, which I maintain is underrated. I love the blue-streaked Jason mask
Queer meta-horror about a slasher franchise starring Gillian Anderson with music by Alex G and The Blue Nile guy literally sounds made in a fucking lab for me. Schoenbrun supremacy continues
The new Silent Night Deadly Night is hot trash. Rohan Cambell sucks and that might be my least favorite movie since Halloween Ends lol
watched I saw the tv glow for the billionth time. a friend wanted to watch a movie with me this weekend for my upcoming birthday so I chose to share it with them. I managed to not sob my way through it into the mic but I feel bad because when the credits started rolling I could hear how upset they were lol (they said they absolutely loved it though). anyway, top three movie of all time for me and it really only gets better with each viewing.
I Saw the TV Glow is so special to me but I don't think I can stand watching it alone. I told my friends in October that I wanted to share with them a movie that's important to me, but even though we meet almost weekly there's always one or two of us who can't make it. It is now February. I love my friends but sometimes trying to schedule things with them is incredibly frustrating.
