Trailersssss TMNT Fathom Events Cold Storage Masters of the Universe Ready or Not 2 new Red Band trailer Scream 7 Disclosure Day Hokum Protector Amazon ad Forbidden Fruits Dolly
Whistle was fun! Like a Talk to Me, Smile, Final Destination kinda thing. A little awkward at times but has enough good stuff to be worth checking out. And the sapphic romance doesn't hurt
Ready or Not 2 and They Will Kill You coming out the same day will make for a fun double feature day. Saw Send Help tonight and really enjoyed it. Could watch the leads every day.
i was making a list of my favorite scream queens/final girls/female leads that i've seen in two or more movies (not counting sequels) and i realized they're all blonde (Samara Weaving, Kathryn Newton, Maika Monroe, Anya Taylor-Joy, in case you were wondering) and i'd like to think that says more about the state of the industry (ie who is more likely to repeatedly get roles) than about me as a person... on that note: this looked fun, i'm glad Georgina Campbell is doing stuff and since i'm making a habit of quoting myself... i didn't see any trailers going into this, the only thing i knew about it was Daf and Soph were in it. imagine my delighted surprise when they started kissing! (possible spoilers ahead?) i liked a lot about this movie, but as i said, some parts were just so awkward. this lady is telling you you're cursed, you should probably look more worried. this kind of thing happens multiple times so i think it's a directorial decision, since Daf and Soph (and basically everyone else) have no trouble emoting in other scenes. one thing that rubbed me the wrong way was that the deaths of the male poc characters were more graphic compared to everyone else's, but i think that was more a side effect of having such a diverse cast in the first place. then again, there weren't any female poc actors, except for the mid-credits scene. so yeah, i guess you can say the white characters had interesting, thought out deaths, while those of the poc characters were just... bloody. that Percy guy from the Wednesday show is in this. i knew he looked familiar but i couldn't place it until i saw his name in the credits. iirc he got kicked off the show for being an asshole. maybe that's why he's so good at playing one.
Haunted House Night on the The Last Drive-In tonight! Movies are House on Haunted Hill (OG) and The Innkeepers
Also OG House on Haunted Hill is so unhinged even for a modern flick, I can't imagine how much of a mindfuck it was in 1959 lol. Like the original Saw or something
As much as I love To wear and don't mind a good slowburn, I gotta be real...The Innkeepers is testing my patience lol
Is Keeper worth checking out? Reviews are pretty middling. This is coming from someone who was disappointed by Longlegs/The Monkey and thinks Perkins is good at building an intriguing premise, but executes the landing poorly.
It's my favorite of his since The Blackcoat's Daughter. It's pretty good throughout but the ending is great
