Soooo fucking nostalgic for me. They really go for it with the accents, but the series is a total vibe.
Never watched Storm of the Century but I 100% remember the ads always playing on whatever station it aired on. Looked really weird and spooky.
Yup.. it was on at prime time on ABC back in 99 or 2000? My mom introduced me to horror, so we’d tune into this and she would make spicy popcorn. Damn, life was good.
Okay, listen.. kernels in a pot on medium high heat. Throw a bit of oil on top and shake the pot through the entirety of the cooking as to not burn the popcorn. Melt half-full stick of salt butter and drench the kernels AS they’re popping. Once completed.. shake a dose of chili powder and salt while someone else shakes the pot. Let sit for 15 minutes.. watch Storm of the Century and enjoy.
Rewatched The Stuff. Absolutely love these goofy cheapo 80s practical effects flicks. Michael Moriarty is a hoot
What are we looking forward to seeing in theaters in the first three months of this year? Bone Temple seems to be the only big one since I'm pretty sure the consensus around here is we're not supporting Spyglass by watching the Scream movie
Reading that NEON is getting pretty close to buying The Australian gay conversion therapy horror flick Leviticus in a 7 figure deal. Getting some of the biggest buzz of any horror film at Sundance. Aussie Horror seems to be the thing right now
was skeptical at first, but it seems like an intriguing premise. looked up Variety's review and it looks like it's made with a lot of respect for the subject matter, in a way that provides insightful commentary into religious subjugation of LGBTQ+ folks instead of fetishizing it (the director himself is gay), or "not making queerness the monster". it's got a 100% on RT so far, so i'm cautiously optimistic.
