Theater filled up for Primate and I do not want to see it badly enough to be around that many other humans, so I rebooked for Sunday afternoon.
Primate gets a 6/10 from me. There are some good kills, a few good jump scares, some funny parts, but the characters mostly stink and you just end up feeling bad for the chimp because he has rabies One or two kills really stand out and the rest are by the books
Don't Torture a Duckling and Don't Go in the Woods on The Last Drive-In Tonight. Both movies are extremely unhinged lol Duckling kicked ass once I wrapped my brain around the vibes. @OhTheWater have you seen Don't Go in the Woods? Because this shit is dumb as hell and right up your alley (complimentary)
I did not realize that Don't Go In the Woods had no killer reveal and was literally just a feral viking caveman guy going nuts in the woods lmao, this shit just earned an extra star
my initial response was to feel bad for the other nominees but then i figure this is a pretty low prestige award so they'll probably get the chance to win in similar genre-specific categories elsewhere
i don't think i was ever scared of needles until that one scene in that one saw movie. guess what showed up on fb reels i also hate dolls. and clowns. so when there's a scene in It Chapter One with an entire room full of clown dolls i think my tolerance for blood and gore is pretty high, i just avoid stuff that's notorious for it like Terrifier and Martyrs. spiders, needles, clowns, and dolls tho, i'm covering my eyes.
showed mum Ready or Not yesterday, I forgot how hard that movie goes. Samara Weaving is our best current scream queen she's so great
Primate was decent enough. Doesn’t feel like there are much creature features being made these days
we watched Longlegs tonight, I still fuck with it. some of those shots of the devil and whatever that thing under the veil is are genuinely so insane
