Predator Badlands was pretty good! Although it certainly helps to know what to expect going in. More of an action adventure film, oddly somewhat wholesome
Been a bit out on horror since Halloween, but did The Void today. This movie feels SO close to being, like, really, really good. It’s like all the elements are there, but they fall a centimeter too short.
They spent all their money on the great special effects for a story with no likable characters. So annoying. They've done a lot of other movies I like since then at least.
couldn't really get into The Void save for the atmosphere and seeing Kenneth Welsh in something that wasn't Twin Peaks. might be time to revisit it soon
Huge shoutout to @Michael Belt for hooking me up a copy of I Saw the TV Glow with his A24 membership. It's a beautiful package and I can't wait to rewatch it this weekend - should make a great double-feature with Queens of the Dead.
and for a 1080p disc, the specs on that thing are stellar. great picture and a great use of an Atmos soundtrack too. i also really like the presentation of A24's standard digipaks with the art cards and everything.
Oh fuck Welcome to Derry ep 1 goes so fucking hard. I only started watching this on a whim and didn't really expect to get invested but damn
I'm on episode like two or three, idk if I'm fully on board yet with how they're handling the story but the scares so far have been genuinely terrifying, they look great and are so well done
Watched The Nun this evening. Besides a few solid jump scares, it didn’t do much for me. Is the sequel any better?
