Finally watched Strange Harvest and yeah, total ripper lol. A Horror in the High Desert-style true crime mockumentary about ritualistic murder that feels like Silence of the Lambs with a pinch of Blair Witch Project? Pretty much made in a lab for me. That director has only done this film and Grave Encounters, but man, he's good at that style.

edit: I guess I haven't seen Grave Encounters since college, but I remember it being pretty effective. Cool reveal in that one.

 

I saw this for the first time at an outdoor halloween marathon back in 2020 and I have so much fondness for it that I’m not sure I’ll ever watch it again because I know the circumstances were like 75% of why I loved it so much.

 

It was fun despite the actual werewolf costume being not great.

Think I’ll finally check out Thankskilling tonight.

Sally Hawkins in Bring Her Back is Toni Collette in Hereditary level great, so of course she'll be completely overlooked come award season

I hope Sinners gets a bunch of Oscar noms tho

Triple-post, but damn, Bone Lake also kind of made in a lab for me lol - throwback horror-adjacent erotic thriller that is definitely kind of stupid and also a hat on a hat but just so stylish and shameless and fun. The right kind of bonkers for me with a nice side of humor
