Finally watched We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. Really loved it - not as much as ISTTG, but that’s one of my all time favorites. Heartbreaking, lonely little film. We are lucky for Jane Schoenbrun.

Started Good Boy, but gonna finish tomorrow. Dog’s name is the same as the name of my cat when I was growing up.

  6. Having a pretty terrible time right now but winding down with Friday the 13th Part VII. The big dawg really is always there when you need him.

  7. IMO, there's no way Friday the 13th isn't the greatest slasher franchise of all-time. It sustained so long that it not only ushered in some slasher tropes, but stuck around long enough to satirize them. I love Halloween and NOES as much as the next guy - they both very likely have higher highs -- but F13 is the most consistent all the way through, with one or two obvious exceptions. It also balances its tone between serious and goofy perfectly.

    Non-believers should watch Jason Lives.

    this... is fair

on a serious note though Long and Gibbs are both really shitty dudes, not telling anybody else how to feel but I will be avoiding that one

Watched Werewolves. wasn't as silly/schlocky as hoped for this type of story but had its moments.

  18. I'm off work all week next week, which is different when you have a child, but I *may* have some family watching him Monday morning so I can catch a little break and see Keeper and Predator Badlands at like 8am, lmao

I am more interested in Black Phone 2 than either of them tbh but that one's on digital so it seems best to catch the others. Still know virtually nothing about Keeper, but I've tempered my expectations for sure

Keeper is absolutely worth checking out. I wasn't as high on it as others but the ending is worth the price of admission alone imo and Maslany is incredible.

Predator Badlands is a ton of fun and I think it's cool to see on the big screen but it is a much tougher sell for someone is a franchise fan. So many people I've talked to who were over the moon for it haven't seen any of the other movies. I'm still on board with Trachtenberg but this is a huge swing and change of pace for what most everyone would expect from another Predator movie

agreed re: Predator. i've only seen a small handful of Predator-adjacent films, and even i knew it was a bit tonally different when we saw it over the weekend. a fun time for sure, but different

Just coming out of the post-wedding stupor. Totally forgot I bought that Terror Vision blind buy back in August, anyone know when that's supposed to ship out?

I'd recommend emailing them. I've been waiting on two orders for months and they responded to me letting me know that stuff is still shipping out but it's been a bit concerning. I understand they've gone through the wringer over the course of the last year so I get it but hopefully it's not a longer lasting issue with shipping

I think the Secret title isn’t coming out for a bit, they’re still behind on the other announced ones. Hopefully by early next year. They eventually resolved my issue and were super nice about it, but yeah their customer service is a bit tough to get to.

Spent about an hour at work today contemplating whether The Edge (1997) is horror adjacent, action adjacent, or disaster adjacent. Fuck my brain.

edit: this was supposed to go in the things that annoy you thread, but fuck it, we here.
