I just watched The People Under The Stairs for the first time and it's fucking wild but enjoyed the fuck out of it!!

Curious about Keeper. Lots of buzz in the marketing, really leaning into the quotes/reactions from other directors and heavy hitters. Hope it can deliver. I have Friday off so may catch it then.

What kind of guns are these cops using in Predator 2??

Oh okay wow I did not realize this is like a dystopian future setting haha

yeah it ws set in the distant dystopian future of 1997. iirc it correctly predicted the year a subway opened in real life LA too

The guns and I guess some of the computer software were the only real indicators that it was set in the future. I saw it was set in 97 and didn’t think twice but then saw it was made in 90 and imdb describes it as dystopian LA

Prince of Darkness tonight. genuinely almost a perfect movie for me but the character/actor for Brian is so bland, prefer literally every other character

the imagery in this movie is absolutely insane, Carpenter couldn't be stopped in the 80s

Keeper was fucking INSANE lmao. at no point during that movie did I have any idea what was about to happen in the next few seconds. another Perkins W maybe one of his best

Tonally, it looks closer to something like The Blackcoat's Daughter to me. Is that a fair assumption, or not at all?

it kind of has that vibe for sure but infinitely wilder and probably funnier too. maybe just the setting but I was getting heavy Together vibes actually

  21. I was hoping to go see Keeper today but we don't have any 4pm showings. It's supposed to rain pretty heavily starting tomorrow, and I'm the stereotypical LA driver idk how to deal with that shit

@Aaron Mook I know you wanted horror books so letting you know about Wake Up and Open Your Eyes which is a body horror about how Fox News makes boomer parents zombies

  24. I get to sleep in tomorrow and would really love to watch something newer tonight, which is tough when you generally keep up with new releases (more or less). If anyone has some under the radar Shudder recs or something fun from that past 10 years that's streaming, let me know. Considering Satranic Panic

  25. Moon Garden also sounds very cool, don't even think I'd heard of that one until browsing Letterboxd
