An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

yeah I enjoyed They Live so much more this time around, easily one of Carpenter's best. the last line is absolutely insane lmao

also watched The Fog today and man that movie. there's literally 2 minutes of plot and the rest is just vibes but goddamn the vibes are good. makes me want to buy a lighthouse in a coastal town

They Live is an all timer. Roddy Piper is perfect in it.

Someone posted about it on Reddit, added to my list based on good word of mouth but haven’t seen it yet

  9. Black Phone 2 was mostly good. I loved the lore and the acting, but there were so many moments that took me out of the movie

Saw Bugonia last night and hot damn I loved it. absolutely speaking out of recency bias right now but that may be one of my favorites this year

  11. Likely catching that tomorrow

There Are Monsters really impressed me. Good movie, great for what they pulled off with that budget.

Halfway through Black Phone 2. Just sharing some thoughts as I go..

Like.. what movie am I watching right now? Absolutely digging the talent and the winter vibes, but it feels like I’m watching way too many ideas play out at one time. I’m hoping it ties together.. but ultimately, what do I know?

Beautiful flick, man. Loved this so much. SOV Slacker + Slasher + Araki. This is one of those “that’s why I love movies” movies. I wish I could justify teaching this. I think I’d never stop talking about it if I saw it as a teenager

  16. Yeah, Twisted Issues is some great shit. I have a podcast episode coming out about that one soon.

  17. The Bird With the Crystal Plumage has an excellent first half-hour and last 15 minutes, but I feel like the midsection really drags, which is honestly how I've felt about a lot of Giallo despite generally enjoying the vibe.

Enjoying Blood and Black Lace so far.

  21. Yep. Feels like A Scanner Darkly by way of Adult Swim. Definitely a little faux-deep, but also really unique and unsettling use of the medium.

Yeah, I nearly turned it off halfway through...which is not something I normally do. I stuck it out, but did not like it.
